Those income tax rates reflect a middle class tax cut that was adopted by a Republican Congress and a Republican President 12 years ago, which virtually all Congressional Democrats voted against at the time. That is why they are called the Bush tax cuts. President Obama told us when he was running s office that the Republicans only cut taxes for the rich. But now all we have heard is about how we can’t let the Bush tax cuts for the middle class expire.

Tax Cuts and Duplicity.....
Interesting read....gives me hope for Paul Ryan - though he just disappointed me more than I thought possible voting for the Fiscal Cliff proposal....

Paul Ryan Emerges as Power Broker in Fiscal Talks ......
Speaker John A. Boehner has tapped Mr. Ryan, who has returned to his post as the House Budget Committee chairman after an unsuccessful run for vice president, to help strike a deal to avoid big tax increases and spending cuts by the end of the year, and to bring along fellow Republicans.
“He helps us toward creating a product,” said Senator Rob Portman, Republican of Ohio, “and he helps sell the product.”

Ryan to Obama: Get 'Revenue Through Growth,' Not Taxes.....
Speaker Boehner has outlined a bipartisan way forward to avoid the "fiscal cliff" and get our economy growing: common-sense entitlement reform coupled with pro-growth tax reform. We can find common ground on responsible spending restraint and greater revenue through economic growth, but we have yet to see either a serious plan or leadership from President Obama. Speaker Boehner and House Republicans have delivered both.

Ryan returns to House: What next?
Gone are the platitudes that defined Mitt Romney’s campaign. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Congress will almost certainly have to cut a massive debt and deficit deal with President Barack Obama. And without Ryan’s imprimatur – or at least public approval – any compromise will be a tough sell.

Thank-you Mitt & Paul....
This is exactly how I feel....
I’ll admit it — Mitt wasn’t my guy in the primaries. But when he secured the nomination, I put our few ideological differences aside to join him in supporting the many other things we have in common. As the campaign went on, he grew on me — especially after he plucked Ryan from national obscurity and confronted serious issues lesser men would have never touched (ahem, Barack). He ran a good campaign, a clean campaign. While President Obama disgraced his office with mudslinging class warfare and immature name-calling, Romney kept his eye on the bigger picture: the future of our country.

Paul Ryan loses vice presidential bid, keeps House seat....
One bright spot..........
Of all the major candidates up for election Tuesday, Paul Ryan was the only one who really couldn't lose either way.
If he won, he'd be a heartbeat behind Mitt Romney in the White House — establishing a strong vice presidency he said would be modeled after former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Biden: ‘President Clinton Bankrupted Chrysler’......
Biden says the ad claims “President Clinton bankrupted Chrysler so that Italians could buy it to ship jobs overseas to China.”
The closing argument ........
Let me recap: If you’re in Brooklyn or Bayonne, Obama said he’s got your back. Just like he had Ambassador Steven’s back in Benghazi. At least, he has your back until Las Vegas calls.
That’s one path, one choice. Rely on Big Government -- expect the central planners and bureaucrats in Washington to know what’s best for you and to deliver it.
The other choice is the one America has historically made. That’s the choice of self-reliance, of neighbor helping neighbor, of people coming together of their own free will to help out when needed. That’s the path of the Red Cross, Mercy Chefs, Catholic and Lutheran Social Services, the Salvation Army and a host of other organizations who deliver more relief to people who need it faster and more efficiently than the government ever could.

Paul Ryan Draws Biggest Solo Crowd in Liberal ......
With a new American Future Fund poll showing Mitt Romney with a one-point lead in liberal Minnesota, Paul Ryan went to the state President Barack Obama won by more than 10 percentage points in 2008 and drew a crowd of nearly 9,000 people on Sunday.

Romney draws crowd estimated around 30,000 in Pennsylvania.....
I couldn’t get an exact figure for the crowd but Romney campaign folks said that 32,800 had registered for the event and that looked plausible. Many were bused in for the event. Romney said the crowd size was proof the late momentum was breaking his way.

Going out on a limb: Romney beats Obama, handily.....
Fundamentals usually prevail in American elections. That's bad news for Barack Obama. True, Americans want to think well of their presidents and many think it would be bad if Americans were perceived as rejecting the first black president.
But it's also true that most voters oppose Obama's major policies and consider unsatisfactory the very sluggish economic recovery -- Friday's jobs report showed an unemployment uptick.
Also, both national and target state polls show that independents, voters who don't identify themselves as Democrats or Republicans, break for Romney.

The Case for Mitt Romney .....
A President Romney would be utterly unburdened by messianic expectations. If he’s elected, the American public will have hired him to do a job, not to save the planet or redeem our politics. Thankfully. We’ve had enough self-styled heroic government to last us a good long time.

Paul Ryan goes trick-or-treating......
“This is the route I took when I was a kid,” Ryan told reporters as they walked through the neighborhood. Asked about the race, he said he wouldn’t answer political questions while out with his family.
Paul Ryan: '2013 Could Be A Renaissance In America'.....
PAUL RYAN: “Our commitment is really clear. We're saying here are the solutions; here are the principles we're going to use; here's our proven bipartisan track record of actually delivering results and getting things done; here's what we're going to do. And I've got to tell you, 2013 could be a renaissance in America, in the world and in America. 2013 can be the year we get our economy growing, we start creating 12 million new jobs, we put these pro-growth policies in place and we reaffirm the American idea by electing Mitt Romney the next President of the United States.”
'We must rip this fledgling tyranny out before its roots grow strong and indestructible' .....
I have been literally inhaling every bit of history I can devour over the past few years....and the pattern emerging is frightening.
It's not something that "just happened" with the election of Obama. It's the man behind the curtain that's finding it harder to hide. The Progressive Agenda will end this country as we know it.
I'm sure all of us have our beefs with our government - both Federal and Local. I'm sure we have things that drive us nuts about our Country. But when you look out your door, and know that YOU as a citizen control everything....!
Not Congress - YOU vote them in and out -
Not the Senate - YOU vote them in and out....
Not the Presidency - Not a Thing YOU as an individual don't control! It's amazing.

I can get up every morning and write about what I think...me....little Ol' ME. Nobody can stop me.
Even those whose vile drivel permeates our lives....they too are protected. Thank god....
God - there's another one they are trying to make go away. Though I am not religious myself....Religion has a deep meaning in our land. It's free expression and devotion must be protected. The seperation of Church and State started in a LETTER. Not the Constitution...a letter from Thomas Jefferson having an intellectual debate. Something we don't do any longer.....
So yes...I DO believe this IS the Election of a lifetime.
Do I think Mitt is the end all - end all? No...
However, I believe he is a man of deep character and faith. Someone who will return respect to the Office and strength to our nation.....a man who truly understand that unleashing the PRIVATE Sector will make that "Sleeping Giant" rise again.
And if he veers off course...Well, we're out here to steer him back...
We are "We the People"....and we must TAKE our country back!
Let's keep the "Mittmenum" going and VOTE!
Our society has come upon a defining moment: We, the American people, have a choice to make regarding the kind of government we desire.
The shape and role of our federal government has been slowly changing over that last few decades and now we have reached a critical juncture. The implications of our decision could last for generations, changing the course of America and possibly wrecking what took our Founding Fathers a lifetime to painstakingly establish – a Republic that secured liberty and esteemed man’s natural rights above all else – something the world had never witnessed.
This decision point is just days away on November 6th, Election Day.
Ann Coulter: Romney is what the country needs now......
Whenever a service is provided by the government, a whole new set of agendas come into play. The No. 1 purpose of any government agency is to be a jobs program.
That’s why we can’t shut down unnecessary post offices.
That’s why Mayor Giuliani spent his entire second term in court battling “Campaign to Save Our Hospitals” as he tried to sell off rotting, empty public hospitals that were nothing but Democratic patronage dumps.
That’s why the Department of Education still has a program to fund schools at military bases long after those bases have closed and the children have gone.

An Appeal to America's Heart....
Those who expect Ryan to sound like Ayn Rand -- an embarrassing past flirtation -- got something very different. Ryan quoted Abraham Lincoln on social mobility -- "an unfettered start and a fair chance in the race of life." Ryan identified with his old mentor Jack Kemp: "When he spoke of progress, he meant progress for everyone." And without quoting him, Ryan embraced Pope John Paul II's emphasis on the importance of healthy civic and religious institutions. It is a combination -- Lincoln, Kemp and Catholic social thought -- that must have set Rand aspinning.
At the same time, Ryan managed to probe one of Obama's sore spots -- the fact that he presides over the highest poverty rates in a generation.

CBS News uses outdated ‘fact-check’ to counter Paul Ryan’s claims on Delphi pension situation.....
CBS News relied on an outdated, months-old “fact-check” this weekend to call “mostly false” Paul Ryan’s claim that President Barack Obama’s auto bailout favored unionized workers.
A Mitt Romney most of America doesn't know.....
Edward Albertian had been working for only a few weeks at his new job, managing the first two Boston-area Staples stores, when he got an unnerving call from his wife. As Staples staffed up, Albertian had been poaching talent from his old company, and his former boss was piqued.
That morning, a courier had delivered papers to Albertian's wife threatening them with eviction unless they immediately repaid the $250,000 loan from Albertian's former company that they had used to buy their home.
A few days later the couple, with their newborn son and 2-year-old daughter in tow, were invited to Staples' Watertown headquarters and found themselves sitting across from Mitt Romney, whose company, Bain Capital, had invested money in Staples. He had heard about their predicament from the chain's co-founder, Tom Stemberg.
