Top 10 Percent of Earners Paid 71 Percent of Federal Income Taxes....

Top earners are the target for new tax increases, but the federal income tax system is already highly progressive. The top 10 percent of income earners paid 71 percent of all federal income taxes in 2009 though they earned 43 percent of all income. The bottom 50 percent paid 2 percent of income taxes but earned 13 percent of total income. About half of tax filers paid no federal income tax at all.

Tax Cuts and Duplicity.....

Interesting read....gives me hope for Paul Ryan - though he just disappointed me more than I thought possible voting for the Fiscal Cliff proposal....

Those income tax rates reflect a middle class tax cut that was adopted by a Republican Congress and a Republican President 12 years ago, which virtually all Congressional Democrats voted against at the time. That is why they are called the Bush tax cuts. President Obama told us when he was running s office that the Republicans only cut taxes for the rich. But now all we have heard is about how we can’t let the Bush tax cuts for the middle class expire.

This Prediction From the CBO Shows How Wrong They Were About The U.S.’ Economic Future

“Instead of publicly-held debt as a share of GDP being a microscopic 7.4% this year, it was closer to 74% – or 72.8% to be specific (as of the August update from the CBO),” Pethokoukis explains.

Yes, our national debt as a share of GDP is approximately 74 percent. This is absolutely unsustainable.

Obama’s Fiscal Cliff Plan Still Not Balanced.....

Obama’s latest counteroffer is no more acceptable than his first offer. Short on details concerning actual spending reductions, especially on entitlements, it is replete with his requisite tax hikes and (we are shocked) new stimulus spending. The cherry on top is an extension of the debt limit for two years, essentially handing over authority to raise it to the President.

Right.

Obama Scam Admitted: Bush Tax Cuts Worked......

No kidding......

Did you know that the 2012 Economic Report of the President -- the official government document on the economy published by the Obama Administration and signed personally by Obama himself -- admits the Bush tax cuts caused government revenue to go up, not down?

That's right.

Before Raising Rates, Obama Aides Should Pay Their Taxes......

This is what happens when you begin to establish a "Ruling Class".....Road to Serfdom folks!

The debt among Hill employees has risen at a faster rate than the overall tax debt on the government's books, according to Internal Revenue Service data. It comes at a time when some Republican members are pushing for the firings of government workers who owe the IRS and President Obama has urged a crackdown on delinquent government contractors.

Republicans Control Best-Run States in America, 24/7 Wall St. Survey Shows.....

...And we're surprised why???

The list is based on a review of data for financial health, standard of living and government services. While noting that current situations may stem from decisions made years ago and that external factors like weather can be as much to blame as poor governance, 24/7 Wall St. also points out that all of the high-ranking states have “well-managed budgets” and the worst states have “high debt relative to both income and expenditure.”

The Left's Scrooge McDuck Mythology of the Wealthy.....

The money is just sitting there. Never mind Scrooge McDuck earned the money; he isn't using it, so McDuck doesn't need it. In fact, McDuck would still be rich if he gave over half of it away to those who really need it -- like kids in Mexico, the Philippines, and Afghanistan. Obviously, the rich foreigners, like McDuck, are selfish jerks for not sharing their 'luck.'

Magical thinking about Amnesty......

Interesting case against Amnesty...

Instead, California is living proof of the harmful economic impact caused by mass immigration. Over the last two decades, California grew by 10 million new people, but gained only 150,000 new taxpayers. As a study by a team of economic and public policy professors found, "From the mid-1980s to 2005, California's population grew by 10 million, while Medicaid recipients soared by seven million; tax filers paying income taxes rose by just 150,000; and the prison population swelled by 115,000." This is the make-up of a demographic and economic catastrophe, and it is the open borders Republican model for the rest of the nation.

Treasury Secretary Geithner: Lift Debt Limit to Infinity .....

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Friday that Congress should stop placing legal limits on the amount of money the government can borrow and effectively lift the debt limit to infinity.

On Bloomberg TV, “Political Capital” host Al Hunt asked Geithner if he believes “we ought to just eliminate the debt ceiling.”

“Oh, absolutely,” Geithner said.

“You do? Will you propose that?” Hunt asked.

Paul Ryan Emerges as Power Broker in Fiscal Talks ......

Speaker John A. Boehner has tapped Mr. Ryan, who has returned to his post as the House Budget Committee chairman after an unsuccessful run for vice president, to help strike a deal to avoid big tax increases and spending cuts by the end of the year, and to bring along fellow Republicans.

“He helps us toward creating a product,” said Senator Rob Portman, Republican of Ohio, “and he helps sell the product.”

Democrats Are Now Pushing Mitt Romney's Tax Idea....

Now Democrats are saying there is "renewed interest" in a hard cap of as much as $35,000 on deductions, which could allow for significantly higher taxes to come in from rich filers, without officially raising their tax rates. (The President has previously proposed a cap based on the percentage of income tax paid, but that has never gone anywhere in Congress.) The big difference between Romney's cap and the Democrats potential thievery of it, is that he wanted to use it as a trade-off for cut taxes for everyone. The Senate Democrats may just use it as an alternative to raising tax rates.

Ryan to Obama: Get 'Revenue Through Growth,' Not Taxes.....

This isn't obstructionist...it's educational. Find out why Class Warfare does NOT work....the House is our last line of defense!

Speaker Boehner has outlined a bipartisan way forward to avoid the "fiscal cliff" and get our economy growing: common-sense entitlement reform coupled with pro-growth tax reform. We can find common ground on responsible spending restraint and greater revenue through economic growth, but we have yet to see either a serious plan or leadership from President Obama. Speaker Boehner and House Republicans have delivered both.

My Spine Has Stiffened......

The conservative movement took it pretty good on the chin earlier this week. President Obama and his liberal allies mobilized their vote and got it out very effectively in the key states. On Tuesday night, as I went to bed, I was extremely down and out. But on Wednesday, as the sun rose, my spine stiffened and it was a brand new day.

Foodstamps Surge By Most In One Year To New All Time Record, In Delayed Release.....

Funny, ey? Release delayed until after the election...and I hear the usual crickets chirping....how long do crickets live? These poor guys have been chirping at the Drive-By Media's silence so long...they need a break!

There was, however, another closely tracked number which perhaps is far more indicative of the economic "growth" in the past 4 years, which certainly had a delayed release. The number of course is that showing how many Americans are on foodstamps, and usually is released at the end of the month, or the first day or two of the next month. This time the USDA delayed its release nine days past the semi-official deadline, far past the election, and until Friday night to report August foodstamp data.

Thank-you Mitt & Paul....

This is exactly how I feel....

I’ll admit it — Mitt wasn’t my guy in the primaries. But when he secured the nomination, I put our few ideological differences aside to join him in supporting the many other things we have in common. As the campaign went on, he grew on me — especially after he plucked Ryan from national obscurity and confronted serious issues lesser men would have never touched (ahem, Barack). He ran a good campaign, a clean campaign. While President Obama disgraced his office with mudslinging class warfare and immature name-calling, Romney kept his eye on the bigger picture: the future of our country.

The closing argument ........

Let me recap: If you’re in Brooklyn or Bayonne, Obama said he’s got your back. Just like he had Ambassador Steven’s back in Benghazi. At least, he has your back until Las Vegas calls.

That’s one path, one choice. Rely on Big Government -- expect the central planners and bureaucrats in Washington to know what’s best for you and to deliver it.

The other choice is the one America has historically made. That’s the choice of self-reliance, of neighbor helping neighbor, of people coming together of their own free will to help out when needed. That’s the path of the Red Cross, Mercy Chefs, Catholic and Lutheran Social Services, the Salvation Army and a host of other organizations who deliver more relief to people who need it faster and more efficiently than the government ever could.

Going out on a limb: Romney beats Obama, handily.....

Fundamentals usually prevail in American elections. That's bad news for Barack Obama. True, Americans want to think well of their presidents and many think it would be bad if Americans were perceived as rejecting the first black president.

But it's also true that most voters oppose Obama's major policies and consider unsatisfactory the very sluggish economic recovery -- Friday's jobs report showed an unemployment uptick.

Also, both national and target state polls show that independents, voters who don't identify themselves as Democrats or Republicans, break for Romney.

The Case for Mitt Romney .....

A President Romney would be utterly unburdened by messianic expectations. If he’s elected, the American public will have hired him to do a job, not to save the planet or redeem our politics. Thankfully. We’ve had enough self-styled heroic government to last us a good long time.

'We must rip this fledgling tyranny out before its roots grow strong and indestructible' .....

I have been literally inhaling every bit of history I can devour over the past few years....and the pattern emerging is frightening.
It's not something that "just happened" with the election of Obama. It's the man behind the curtain that's finding it harder to hide. The Progressive Agenda will end this country as we know it.
I'm sure all of us have our beefs with our government - both Federal and Local. I'm sure we have things that drive us nuts about our Country. But when you look out your door, and know that YOU as a citizen control everything....!
Not Congress - YOU vote them in and out -
Not the Senate - YOU vote them in and out....
Not the Presidency - Not a Thing YOU as an individual don't control! It's amazing.
I can get up every morning and write about what I think...me....little Ol' ME. Nobody can stop me.
Even those whose vile drivel permeates our lives....they too are protected. Thank god....
God - there's another one they are trying to make go away. Though I am not religious myself....Religion has a deep meaning in our land. It's free expression and devotion must be protected. The seperation of Church and State started in a LETTER. Not the Constitution...a letter from Thomas Jefferson having an intellectual debate. Something we don't do any longer.....
So yes...I DO believe this IS the Election of a lifetime.
Do I think Mitt is the end all - end all? No...
However, I believe he is a man of deep character and faith. Someone who will return respect to the Office and strength to our nation.....a man who truly understand that unleashing the PRIVATE Sector will make that "Sleeping Giant" rise again.
And if he veers off course...Well, we're out here to steer him back...
We are "We the People"....and we must TAKE our country back!
Let's keep the "Mittmenum" going and VOTE!

Our society has come upon a defining moment: We, the American people, have a choice to make regarding the kind of government we desire.

The shape and role of our federal government has been slowly changing over that last few decades and now we have reached a critical juncture. The implications of our decision could last for generations, changing the course of America and possibly wrecking what took our Founding Fathers a lifetime to painstakingly establish – a Republic that secured liberty and esteemed man’s natural rights above all else – something the world had never witnessed.

This decision point is just days away on November 6th, Election Day.
