Top 10 Percent of Earners Paid 71 Percent of Federal Income Taxes....
Top earners are the target for new tax increases, but the federal income tax system is already highly progressive. The top 10 percent of income earners paid 71 percent of all federal income taxes in 2009 though they earned 43 percent of all income. The bottom 50 percent paid 2 percent of income taxes but earned 13 percent of total income. About half of tax filers paid no federal income tax at all.

Tax Cuts and Duplicity.....
Interesting read....gives me hope for Paul Ryan - though he just disappointed me more than I thought possible voting for the Fiscal Cliff proposal....
Those income tax rates reflect a middle class tax cut that was adopted by a Republican Congress and a Republican President 12 years ago, which virtually all Congressional Democrats voted against at the time. That is why they are called the Bush tax cuts. President Obama told us when he was running s office that the Republicans only cut taxes for the rich. But now all we have heard is about how we can’t let the Bush tax cuts for the middle class expire.

Death and Taxes....
“Are you still living? Or have the mob of Paris mistaken the head of a monopolizer of knowledge, for a monopolizer of corn, and paraded it about the streets upon a pole?” Franklin enquired, before going on to a brief mention of affairs on the other side of the Atlantic. “Our new Constitution is now established, everything seems to promise it will be durable; but, in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes.”
Krauthammer: Cliff deal ‘surrender’ ......
“Look, there are a lot of conservatives in the Republican caucus in the House who hate the bill for good reason. This is a complete surrender on everything,” he said about the ratio of tax hike to spending cuts.
On Fox’s “Special Report,” Krauthammer offered his prediction on how House Republican leadership will proceed.

Obama’s Fiscal Cliff Plan Still Not Balanced.....
Obama’s latest counteroffer is no more acceptable than his first offer. Short on details concerning actual spending reductions, especially on entitlements, it is replete with his requisite tax hikes and (we are shocked) new stimulus spending. The cherry on top is an extension of the debt limit for two years, essentially handing over authority to raise it to the President.
Right.
Right.
President Obama’s Economically Destructive Tax-Hike Plan....
All this is is the "Left's" belief that once taxes are raised - everyone will pay at the "projected" rate - which, of course won't happen due to high money earner's doing whatever it is they have to do to protect what's theirs and less jobs and hours worked.....they haven't a clue.
This is entirely about divide and conquer - class warfare at it's worst. Envy and fear instead of leadership and hope....what a wonderful world....
Not only that, but the tax hike wouldn’t achieve its intended effect of increasing revenue by $160 billion per year. Instead, it would generate only about $68 billion per year.” This is due, the report notes, “to a smaller tax base commensurate with the smaller economy. For example, fewer hours worked and lower real wages result in less federal income and payroll tax receipts.”

Tax rich liberals......
I note that rich liberals — who somehow manage to avoid paying high taxes themselves — are always wildly enthusiastic about raising taxes on the middle class to keep the strivers down.
Forget the top 2 percent. The top 1 percent of the top 1 percent keep voting for higher taxes — and then take advantage of indefensible tax loopholes and deductions. Get them.
Let’s have a class warfare bloodbath.

Chuck Norris: Obamacare Jiujitsu .....
Last week, I shared with you that while Republicans’ power to repeal Obamacare has been thwarted by the president’s re-election, all is not lost. Conservatives can still suffocate the federal monstrosity by supporting individual-to-state efforts to impede its funding and implementation.

As Americans face a fiscal cliff, the Obamas make do with 54 Christmas trees.......
"We have 54 trees in the White House," an excited Michelle Obama proudly told visitors the other day. "54! That’s a lot of trees."
In fact, the Obamas' 54 trees this year are almost 50% more Christmas trees than last year. That was during the campaign before Obama whispered a reminder to the Russians that he had to be careful until Nov. 6, when a victory would give him more "flexibility."
Now, how much carbon do you suppose those 54 trees could be sequestering had they not been chopped by this green president?

Obama's Tax Increases Fund Government for Eight Days.....
It's nothing more than a Class Warfare power grab....it's all about "Fairness"...who's?
The problem is that the rich don't have enough money to put so much as a dent in America's $16 trillion national debt. "If the IRS grabbed 100 percent of income over $1 million, the take would be just $616 billion," writes John Stossel. "That’s only a third of this year’s deficit. Our national debt would continue to explode."

The Truth About Pledges .....
"An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation." --John Marshall
Claptrap About Compromise.....
Today's redistributionists in America don't have bank robbery in their pasts but they do accept organized theft as the norm of politics. They see all wealth belonging to the state automatically, which is why they count all tax cuts as "government spending" and why they feel entitled to hike up taxes whenever a self-inflicted "crisis" appears.
Taxpayers didn't cause the "fiscal cliff" emergency; derelict pols did. But the taxpayers, not the pols, will pay for it. To pay off their debts, pols will first rob the rich and then move on to the middle class, where much greater potential tax revenue resides.

Mitt Romney: A good man. The right fight........
When much of what passes for a political intelligentsia these days predicted that the selection of Rep. Paul Ryan meant certain death on the third rail of Medicare and Social Security, Mitt Romney brought the fight to the Democrats and made the rational, persuasive case for entitlement reform that conservatives have so desperately needed. The nation listened, thought about it — and on Election Day, Mitt Romney carried seniors by a wide margin. And it’s safe to say that the entitlement discussion will never be the same.
The Left's Scrooge McDuck Mythology of the Wealthy.....
The money is just sitting there. Never mind Scrooge McDuck earned the money; he isn't using it, so McDuck doesn't need it. In fact, McDuck would still be rich if he gave over half of it away to those who really need it -- like kids in Mexico, the Philippines, and Afghanistan. Obviously, the rich foreigners, like McDuck, are selfish jerks for not sharing their 'luck.'

An Overdue Book....
Since Who's The Fairest of Them All? was published in October, there was little chance that it would affect this year's election. But this little gem of a book exposes, in plain language and with easily understood facts, the whole house of cards of assumptions, fallacies, and falsehoods which constitute the liberal vision of the economy.

Two-thirds of millionaires left Britain to avoid 50p tax rate......same will happen here.....
THIS is what cracks me up....the successful and wealthy didn't become that way by being foolish.
And assuming the Government can handle your money better than you can is FOOLISH. Nothing is static.
For Warren Buffett to say we need higher taxes because he doesn't pay enough ( which is a TOTAL falsehood considering he already paid full taxes on his money PRIOR to paying his investment tax....oh, why bother...)...he KNOWS it's a fallacy. He knows it's a lie.
Nobody is just going to "roll over" and take it....they make decisions to protect what is theirs....as THEY SHOULD.
Almost two-thirds of the country’s million-pound earners disappeared from Britain after the introduction of the 50p top rate of tax, figures have disclosed.

Prepare for a Massive Market Meltdown.....
“I don’t think markets are going down because of Greece, I don’t think markets are going down because of the ‘fiscal cliff’ — because there won’t be a ‘fiscal cliff,’ ” Faber told CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “The market is going down because corporate profits will begin to disappoint, the global economy will hardly grow next year or even contract, and that is the reason why stocks, from the highs of September of 1,470 on the S&P, will drop at least 20 percent, in my view.”

The Bush Crack-Up.....1993
Interesting read from 1993 considering the outcome of this election and the hysteria that now seems to prevail...
The post-election air over Washington is filled with the cries of disappointed Republicans that George Bush's convincing, yet not overwhelming, defeat could have been averted if only the President and his team had run a better campaign. Even Vice President Quayle, saluting the focused, largely blunder-free race run by Bill Clinton, suggested that a poor campaign was responsible for the Republican ticket's demise. In fact, the seeds of Bush's defeat were sown long before the campaign began, and it is far from clear that even the most brilliant race by Bush could have changed the outcome.

Bill Kristol Caves on Higher Taxes.....
It's excusable to the vast electorate who do not understand effective tax rates and their across the board impact...but from Bill? Inexcusable.
Bill Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard, is looking for someone to whom to surrender. And so is much of the Republican establishment, so desperate to hold onto positions of influence that they are willing to abandon the newly-confirmed House majority and a bedrock Republican principle for the last two decades.
Giving in on Obama's tax hikes would not win many votes. But it would certainly end the GOP as a viable opposition.

Boehner Folds, Tax Hikes on Table....
Time to go!!! Sorry John...but NO, the American people did NOT vote for this...
The day after Obama's spend, spend, spend, and tax, tax, tax, policies garnered him a second term in the White House, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) offered the president a way to save the economy which included raising taxes "under the right conditions."
With all due respect to Speaker Boehner, when in the hell are the right conditions to raise taxes?
