Bill Kristol Caves on Higher Taxes.....

It's excusable to the vast electorate who do not understand effective tax rates and their across the board impact...but from Bill? Inexcusable.

Bill Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard, is looking for someone to whom to surrender. And so is much of the Republican establishment, so desperate to hold onto positions of influence that they are willing to abandon the newly-confirmed House majority and a bedrock Republican principle for the last two decades.

Giving in on Obama's tax hikes would not win many votes. But it would certainly end the GOP as a viable opposition.

Harry Reid agenda: Filibuster crackdown, tax increases.....

Speaking at a packed news conference on Capitol Hill, Reid laid out an ambitious agenda for 2013 after his party’s surprisingly decisive Senate victories and President Barack Obama’s reelection bid, saying the public gave Democrats a new mandate to raise taxes on wealthy families as part of a major year-end fiscal deal. While Reid said he’s not going to “draw lines in the sand” ahead of the year-end fiscal cliff, he insisted on higher revenues.

Maryland Woman Documents All Taxes Paid in 2012 — Hits $26,000 So Far......

“I just started looking through all of our receipts and tax filings from the past year and made columns for each,” she explained. The middle class Dundalk, MD, resident notes that she had to expand her list a number of times due to the hidden taxes she kept discovering. The average entry features a relatively small amount, sometimes only pennies, but it is all there. Gas taxes, state and federal taxes, special Maryland alcohol tax, cell phone taxes and “Bay Restoration Fees,” road tolls, mandatory union dues, and on and on. A typical entry from the list will look like this:

Health Law May Be Obama's Downfall ....

If Barack Obama loses his bid for re-election, the main reason can be traced to one period of time and one choice.

In late 2009, both the Democratic House and Senate had passed health reform legislation and were proceeding with reconciliation talks. But in January 2010, Democrats lost Ted Kennedy's Massachusetts Senate seat -- as well as their filibuster-proof Senate majority -- in a protest against Obamacare. It was a remarkable revolt, in the bluest of states.

Get ready to fill out Obamacare's individual mandate tax form......

If people don’t like the individual mandate much now, they will like it a whole lot less when it becomes part of their annual tax filings with the IRS.

Starting in 2014, most Americans will have to purchase “qualifying” health insurance. This insurance plan can be an employer-provided plan, a plan from the individual market, or a government plan like Medicare, Medicaid, and veterans’ care. What all these plans will have in common is that they must be approved as qualified by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which will get to mandate what each plan must cover and how.

Racine Tea Party Fires Up The Faithful ...

The Racine Tea Party's "Rally for Jobs" kicked off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday inside the old Sam's Club at 6200 Regency West Drive.

Before the event could get under way, though, organizers say a truck affixed with "Obama" stickers drove through the parking lot and dumped quantities of nails.

"We went outside and picked up what we could," said Lou D'Abbraccio, holding a cup filled with nails. "But this was just wrong."

ObamaCare: Employees Working 30 Hours per Week Considered 'Full-Time'....

Just another GREAT Job Creator hidden within the Obamacare bill....ya know, once we read it...

 This somewhat obscure stipulation came to light in September as the IRS issued new regulations for employers to determine whether employees are part-time or full-time. According to the new rules, employers are given a “look-back” period of between three and twelve months to calculate employees’ average work hours per week to determine if they are “full-time,” i.e., average 30 hours weekly. Those employees who work the average 30 hours per week will count as “full-time” for the next six months, regardless of how much they work, thus precluding an employer decision to cut workers’ hours to avoid the mandate.

Cook County mulling violence tax on guns and ammunition ....

But the gun lobby has vowed to push back hard on Preckwinkle’s idea.

“This is just another example of the blame game — Chicago and Cook County has a gun violence problem, Chicago’s got a high high school drop-out rate, they’ve got a drug problem, they’ve got a gang problem, but they want to make legal gun owners, guys like me, the scapegoat,” said Todd Vandermyde a National Rifle Association lobbyist who works in Springfield.

He said this is an unfair tax on a constitutional right that will hurt the poor.

Interminable Sentence Nails Obamacare....

If this doesn't assail your knowledge of the Constitution, nothing does.

We are going to be gifted with a healthcare plan [the ACA]:

We are forced to purchase, and fined if we don't;
Which purportedly covers at least 10 million more people
Without adding a single new doctor; but
Provides for 16,000 new IRS agents;
Written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it;
Passed by a Congress that didn't read it; but
Exempted themselves from it; and
Signed by a president who smokes;
With funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes;
For which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect;
By a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare;
All to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese; and
Financed by a country that's broke.

Funny, to be sure, but here's the scary part. It is all true!

Princeton Professor: Obama Is Misquoting Me ......

Lies and more lies.....all one has when they have no policy success to fall back on.....

But that’s not true. Princeton professor Harvey Rosen tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD in an email that the Obama campaign is misrepresenting his paper on Romney’s tax plan:

I can’t tell exactly how the Obama campaign reached that characterization of my work. It might be that they assume that Governor Romney wants to keep the taxes from the Affordable Care Act in place, despite the fact that the Governor has called for its complete repeal. The main conclusion of my study is that under plausible assumptions, a proposal along the lines suggested by Governor Romney can both be revenue neutral and keep the net tax burden on taxpayers with incomes above $200,000 about the same.

Crony capitalism hits Uber small business...

The scale of cronyism at the federal level dwarfs that of the states. Sometimes Uncle Sam plays favorites with individual businesses, such as the $433 million no-bid contract given to a politically connected company last year for an unnecessary smallpox vaccine. Often it benefits entire industries, such as the protection of the sugar industry through quotas and tariffs — policies that increase the price of sugar for all Americans. Always, it’s the ordinary taxpayer who ends up picking up the tab.

Obama’s Tax Deduction Lie....

Obama thinks the American people are stupid. ( Ya think !? ) Throughout the debate, Obama regurgitated his talking points about a balanced solution to the debt crisis. In the process he insulted the intelligence of every voter by intimating that the budget can be balanced by eliminating a few tax credits. No, he didn’t commit to tackling the tens of trillions in unfunded liabilities to Medicare and Social Security. He declined to confront the ballooning cost of all the welfare programs. The only thing he wanted to discuss was eliminating a few tax credits for oil companies and corporate jets.

The Tax Credit for Outsourcing Is Fiction .....

This is not too different from the “subsidies” for “Big Oil” that Democrats are always on about. There is some oil-industry favoritism in the law (in the tax code and elsewhere) but most of those “Big Oil” handouts are wide-ranging manufacturing tax credits and similar measures intended to encourage heavy industry in the United States. As with the Stabenow bill, the campaign allegedly intent on removing these favors would in fact simply exclude certain kinds of companies from exercising benefits normally available to most other businesses. It’s basically a bill of attainder against the oil industry.

Punishing businesses for making business decisions politicians do not like is banana-republic stuff; Barack Obama and his congressional allies should be ashamed of it.

Chris Matthews Freaks Out At Obama: "What Was He Doing?" ....

Don't think Comrade Chris was happy! I believe Mitt Romney understands he has to EARN the election...not be anointed as the "Chosen One"....

 "Tonight wasn't an MSNBC debate tonight, was it?" Chris Matthews said after the first Obama-Romney presidential debate concluded on Wednesday night.

"I don't know what he was doing out there. He had his head down, he was enduring the debate rather than fighting it. Romney, on the other hand, came in with a campaign. He had a plan, he was going to dominate the time, he was going to be aggressive, he was going to push the moderator around, which he did effectively, he was going to relish the evening, enjoying it," Matthews said.

Obama Makes 10th Vegas Trip—Since Warning Bankers: Don’t Go There.....

Perhaps today's Hypocrisy Howler....

Less than three weeks into his presidency Barack Obama warned executives of banks that had received federal bailout money that they better not take business trips to Las Vegas. Since then, Obama himself has made 9 trips to Vegas—and is making a tenth today.

ObamaCare: The Kiss of Death....

If you think Obama is so wonderful...and our "free" Obamacare is the answer...READ THIS and pass it on....
I've yet to read an article that says costs will come down.
And really....has the Government EVER saved us money - REALLY?

The facts are that Obama and his Democratic Party comrades fudged the numbers, engaged in enormously fraudulent accounting tricks, double-counted Medicare funds, dissembled about what ObamaCare would really entail ("We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."), and completely misinformed Congress and the public about the scope and impact of these new laws and entitlement programs.

Obama's Biggest Opponent Is the Truth ....

That claim has been thoroughly discredited, including by PolitiFact Virginia and editorials in this newspaper. Mr. Romney, unlike the president, is committed to cutting taxes for everyone, including the middle class.

Another ad says, "As a corporate raider, [Mr. Romney] shipped jobs to China and Mexico." In response, the Washington Post editorialized, "On just about every level, this ad is misleading, unfair and untrue." As recently as Sept. 17, Mr. Obama claimed in Ohio that Mr. Romney's "experience has been owning companies that were called 'pioneers' in the business of outsourcing jobs to countries like China." But that claim, too, is a fabrication.

Taxpayers spent $1.4 billion on Obama family last year.....

The Press hasn't been slow to pick this up....they do not intend to EVER pick this up.
Don't get me wrong....I want our President and his family protected no matter what the cost....but the rest......well, you decide.

 Gray told The Daily Caller that the $1.4 billion spent on the Obama family last year is the “total cost of the presidency,” factoring the cost of the “biggest staff in history at the highest wages ever,” a 50 percent increase in the numbers of appointed czars and an Air Force One “running with the frequency of a scheduled air line.”

“The most concerning thing, I think, is the use of taxpayer funds to actually abet his re-election,” Gray, who worked in the Eisenhower administration and for other Republican presidents, said in an interview with TheDC on Wednesday.

“The press has been so slow in picking up on this extraordinary increase in the president’s expenses,” Gray told TheDC.

Mitt's take-home-pay message .....

For example, a $70,000 middle-class family whose tax bracket falls from 15 to 12 percent will see a roughly $2,100 increase in take-home pay. That’s not nothing. Mortgage. Tuition. Car payments.

A married couple earning $143,000 whose tax rate under Romney drops from 25 to 20 percent will keep roughly $7,100 more in take-home pay. That’s good money. Or to use Obama’s middle-class benchmark, a married couple earning $220,000 a year whose rate drops from 28 to 22 percent will save over $12,000. That’s a big number.
