Liz Cheney Conducts a Clinic on How to Destroy Liberal Arguments

Liz Cheney Conducts a Clinic on How to Destroy Liberal Arguments:

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I want you to hear Liz Cheney. We have her on Good Morning America today. She was on MSNBC this morning and CNN last night. The first one is Good Morning America. The West Wing writer, Lawrence O'Donnell, was frothing at the mouth yesterday over Dick Cheney's speech. He and the former deputy assistant secretary of state for near-eastern affairs, Liz Cheney, were discussing torture on Good Morning America. Lawrence O'Donnell said -- talking about waterboarding here -- 'It is torture. This government's prosecuted people in the past for doing exactly this, but Dick Cheney believes it's not torture and that's essential to his position. If it was effective, why didn't they use it on the 500 people that Bush-Cheney released from Guantanamo, 75 of whom we know now have gone back into the terrorism business. That was a failure of the Bush-Cheney administration to keep America safe by processing people correctly at Guantanamo. Is that accurate?'"

The Palin Seminar on Moderate Women

American Thinker: The Palin Seminar on Moderate Women:

Sarah Palin's speech to the folks at Vanderburgh County Right to Life last month didn't seem to get on the national political radar. But if you get a chance to review the YouTube video, it's worth it.

Governor Palin (R-AK) may have been giving a speech to conservative pro-lifers in Evansville, Indiana, on April 16, 2009, but the speech was an arrow aimed right over the heads of the conservatives present towards the hearts of moderate women voters everywhere."

American Thinker Blog: Car Czar and Chrysler dealer terminations:

Rosslyn Smith

We know that Caesar's wife is supposed to be above suspicion, but what about a Czar's wife, when it comes to terminating Chrysler's dealers?

From Instapundit:

UPDATE: A reader notes something about “car czar” Steven Rattner: “Rattner is married to Maureen White, the former National Finance Chair for the Democratic Party.” The comment: “So one of the guys advising SecTreas on this thing is married to someone who used to be one of the people in charge of fundraising for the Democratic Party. This explains so much it’s scary.” Well, it bears a close look."

American Thinker Blog: More evidence emerges that Chrysler Dealer closings was politically motivated

" We are going to reach across the aisle, we are going to do it better"...Together, we can destroy an industry.....

American Thinker Blog: More evidence emerges that Chrysler Dealer closings was politically motivated:

Rick Moran
I wrote yesterday of the possibility that Chrysler dealers who had been given the ax were disproportionately Republican - many of them large contributors to GOP candidates and the RNC.

Now comes more evidence that these dealer closings were politically motivated. Through Reliapundit at Astute Bloggers, we learn that the lawyer for the dealers being torpedoed believes that the closings were ordered not by Chrysler, but by the White House: (via Reuters )"

American Thinker: Our Values and Terrorist Incentives:

It has become fashionable to condemn President Bush not only for violating 'our values', but also for spawning anti-US terrorists. These thoughts only make sense if you ignore all US history through 2007."

Once Considered Unthinkable, U.S. Sales Tax Gets Fresh Look

In Massachusetts - we now have voted in a Sales Tax increase.....Gas tax, "fat" tax....etc....etc....are on the table...now this....and we haven't even done Health Care Reform......time to duck and cover!!!

Once Considered Unthinkable, U.S. Sales Tax Gets Fresh Look:

With budget deficits soaring and President Obama pushing a trillion-dollar-plus expansion of health coverage, some Washington policymakers are taking a fresh look at a money-making idea long considered politically taboo: a national sales tax.

Common around the world, including in Europe, such a tax -- called a value-added tax, or VAT -- has not been seriously considered in the United States. But advocates say few other options can generate the kind of money the nation will need to avert fiscal calamity."

American Thinker: Donald Rumsfeld: Threat or Menace?:

Who is to blame for (1) our difficulties in Iraq, (2) the delayed Katrina response, (3) lousy relations between the US and Russia, and (4) Republicans losing the Senate? Donald Rumsfeld, of course. At least if you believe Robert Draper, as he writes in the June 2009 issue of GQ."

American Thinker Blog: Double standards in Canada on presidential assassination fantasy

American Thinker Blog: Double standards in Canada on presidential assassination fantasy:

The CBC has been rebuked for broadcasting a joke about the assassination of President Obama. I agree that it is beyond the pale to do anything that could be construed as inciting assassination. But I am curious as to the seeming lack of Canadian commentary rebuking the Toronto Film Festival for screening an entire film about the prospective assassination of George W. Bush."
