'Demand a Plan' Gun Control Celebrities Ignore Harsh Realities....

I love Jeremy Renner, but has he EVER been in a film of merit that didn't have a weapon? The Avengers, The Town, Hansel & Gretel, The Hurt Locker, The Bourne Legacy, Ghost Protocol  - come on!......I loved all the films...but as an anti-gun advocate???....Please!

For example, after a brief search, I was able to find that two of the actors in the “demand a plan” video were also involved in the 2010 movie "The Town." Question: what was anyone from that movie doing in a public conversation on gun violence? "The Town" was so violent that a Time magazine review called one of the characters in the movie “trigger happy.” No one associated with that movie, like Jon Hamm and Jeremy Renner, should be part of any discussion concerning gun violence. Maybe these actors thought no one would research their previous movie credits, but now that the news is out it looks pretty hypocritical.

In normal times the prospect of gun confiscation might be next to nil, the stuff of conspiracy theories, but in the age of Obama so many bad things seem possible. With the country in a sour mood, the economy stuck in a ditch, and a transformational Marxist in the White House, terrible outcomes that previously appeared farfetched now could become possible.

I was recently hired to review the Supreme Court opinion in the case of Texas v. White, 74 U.S. 700 (1869). The opinion in that matter was written by Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase, who had served in Lincoln's cabinet during the Civil War prior to his appointment as chief justice. In the recent talk of secession, this case is often thrown out as having settled the matter legally, just as the Civil War settled the matter militarily.

New Zealand is strikingly similar to Australia. Both are isolated island nations, demographically and socioeconomically similar. Their mass murder rate before Australia’s gun ban was nearly identical: From 1980 to 1996, Australia’s mass murder rate was 0.0042 incidents per 100,000 people and New Zealand’s was 0.0050 incidents per 100,000 people.

The principal difference is that, post-1997, New Zealand remained armed to the teeth – including with guns that were suddenly banned in Australia.

While it’s true that Australia has had no more mass shootings since its gun ban, neither has New Zealand, despite continuing to be massively armed.

Individuals are sovereign – not the government....

 The right of the people to keep and bear arms is an extension of the natural right to self-defense and a hallmark of personal sovereignty. It is specifically insulated from governmental interference by the Constitution and has historically been the linchpin of resistance to tyranny. And yet, the progressives in both political parties stand ready to use the coercive power of the government to interfere with the exercise of that right by law-abiding persons because of the gross abuse of that right by some crazies in our midst.

These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one's self and possessions.

This will probably come as a total shock to most of my Western readers, but at one point, Russia was one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. This was, of course, when we were free under the Tsar. Weapons, from swords and spears to pistols, rifles and shotguns were everywhere, common items. People carried them concealed, they carried them holstered. Fighting knives were a prominent part of many traditional attires and those little tubes criss crossing on the costumes of Cossacks and various Caucasian peoples? Well those are bullet holders for rifles.

Anti-Gun Senator Shoots Intruder......

Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City , N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician’s home county said.

The intruder, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen andBrunswick counties..

A Democrat from the western Iowa town of Manilla, is a cattleman and farmer. The newspaper reported that he owns a .410 shotgun, a .22 rifle and a .22 pistol.

“We cannot have big guns out here as far as the big guns that are out here, the semi-automatics and all of them,” Muhlbauer told the newspaper during a December 19 audiotaped interview. “We can’t have those running around out here. Those are not hunting weapons.”

Securing the integrity of the ballot box is crucial!

For conservatives, the GOP is a crooked slot machine that they play because it’s the only game in town. In 2010, this worked in spite of the party, and it can work again in 2014. It will only take a few more victories to turn Congress around, and the GOP already has 30 governors and controls both houses of 18 legislatures. The trick will be to fix the machine by exposing the poseurs and running them out of office. Another vital goal is to secure the integrity of the ballot box by enacting more laws requiring photo IDs and to challenge obvious examples of vote fraud such as in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Philadelphia and the ever-suspect South Florida.

After hundreds of emails supporting the couple flowed in and initially allowing the Helvenstons to keep their garden, saying it will hold off on violations, the city has since asked the couple to uproot the garden and replace it with a lawn or face fines.

People just do not realize how the 2nd protects all the other amendments....especially the First....

Maybe Democrats are confident that fallout from Sandy Hook will provide the floor votes necessary to disarm the American people. But if the Left is willing to risk picking this fight with millions of American gun owners, it must also believe something far more important—that Americans who have spent years arming themselves against the ultimate expression of tyranny by their own government–the overthrow of the Second Amendment– will choose to not fight when the time finally comes.
