Administration Seeking Half-Trillion Dollar ‘Investment’ in ‘Transformative Research,’ White House Memo Says....Good Lord!

The Obama administration, as a long-term goal, sought to spend three percent of the economy – or about $450 billion – on research and development of “transformational solutions to Nation’s challenges,” and it planned to prioritize spending on “solar energy, next-generation biofuels, and sustainable green buildings and building retrofit technologies.”

Napolitano: DHS Authorizing Illegal Aliens to Work in U.S....of course we are........

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday that under the administration’s policy of exercising “prosecutorial discretion” in the enforcement of the immigration laws, her department is currently authorizing some illegal aliens to work in the United States.

Mitt Romney Campaign Pulls Rick Perry Attack Ad From YouTube....

Interesting.....

There‘s an interesting story brewing after Mitt Romney’s campaign posted an attack advertisement on YouTube and then later removed it.

An Unprecedented 26 Million Americans Are Now Underemployed

It just keeps getting better and better!

While the number of unemployed workers has held steady at around 14 million in recent months, another telling measure of frustration in the labor market—the number of underemployed individuals—rose for a third consecutive month in September, by almost a half of a million people.

Soros among hosts of New York fundraiser for Elizabeth Warren...so surprising.....

Soros....Warren...I'm so surprised....What's the matter Elizabeth...can't "do it on your own"....?.

Liberal billionaire George Soros and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman are among those hosting a $1,000 a plate dinner tonight in New York for Elizabeth Warren’s Democratic Senate campaign at the home of Karen and Dennis Mehiel, a former candidate for lieutenant governor of New York.

What Happened to Obama's Call for Civility of Speech?...pesky memo......

The ONLY one's who were supposed to obey that pesky memo were you and me......

As Americans, we expect a degree of civility and straight talk when it comes to policy, and we don't care for political games and posturing meant to distract us from the issues that matter. Unfortunately, our President has become one of the worst offenders against responsible, civil dialogue in today's political system. Is he alone in this? No, and anyone who argues otherwise is selling something. But, has he made civil dialogue in politics a figurehead of his approach to governing? Do his past statements come across as hypocritical? Well, yes. They absolutely do.

All Huffy, Joe Biden Stands By Rape Reference to GOP.....

Good lord...just think....he's 2nd in line......

Vice President Joe Biden now says he didn’t make a reference to rape, and got testy with HUMAN EVENTS when we asked if he would like to retract his comments that the number of sexual assaults would increase if Republicans don’t sign on to Barack Obama’s latest “jobs” proposal.

Romney's Lawnmower Problem...

This WAS the REAL Romney!

At first Romney literally laughed off Perry's lunge. But the fakeness of the laugh was quickly revealed by the sudden and strange loss of Romney's customary composure. Somewhat flustered at the unexpected attack, Romney started grabbing at Perry's shoulder and made a nerdy appeal for help to "Anderson" after Perry kept up his prepared, though poorly executed, patter.

Cain Isn't Pulling a Romney on Abortion

Joe Lawler takes Herman Cain to task for not communicating his pro-life position clearly during his interview with Piers Morgan on CNN last night.

However, I think his answer to Morgan and to David Gregory over the weekend is perfectly consistent with what he has said about the question of abortion in the past. Consider Cain's reasoning for declining to sign the Susan B. Anthony List's Pro-Life Presidential Pledge back in June:

Claptrap Legislation...is there any other kind these days?!

I do not know what the learned political scientists of the Republic say about it, but it seems to me that the laws of the land are now so poorly written that almost no one knows what they mean. That is a government bureaucrat's delight!

Cain's 9-9-9 Tax Plan Isn’t Perfect—But It's Better...

Cain’s 9-9-9 plan is not perfect. But then again, the good should never the enemy of the perfect.

Congressman Paul Ryan gives the plan a thumbs-up.

Supply-side mentor Art Laffer tells me it would be “far, far better than the current system.”

Jobless Claims Straddle Key Level; Big Upturn Still Elusive - CNBC

Some economists said the steady decline signals fewer layoffs and possibly stronger job growth in the months ahead. But they cautioned that employers are not yet hiring at healthy levels.

US Soldier in Afghanistan Burns Bill O’Reilly Books....hummmmmmmmm

I find this soldier a Pin Head....however, it's his actions as a member of our military that gives him the right to his opinion as well as enabling mine...

A box of donated books from Bill O’Reilly was allegedly burned and displayed on the Tumbler account of an alleged soldier in Afghanistan, Gawker reports. The account entitled “Everqueer” claims that the box of books was sent to soldiers at a remote outpost in Afghanistan, and burned on a Commander’s orders:

American Jobs Act isn't revenue neutral....Surprise!

As the United States is running a deficit in excess of $1 trillion, any un-offset costs, in this case the debt-service net of residual savings, must be borrowed. Therefore, on net, the American Jobs Act will increase the debt by $60.5 billion over 10 years. In the nearer term, the debt run-up is far more substantial — peaking at $426.4 billion in 2013.

So, when the president tells us that “the American Jobs Act is not going to add to the debt,” he’s not telling us the whole story. Sure, if the U.S. had the cash sitting around to finance the near-term deficit binge, then this wouldn’t really be any issue. But we don’t. Instead, we are on a one-way street to financial collapse. And the president’s shiny new car will only get us there faster.

Actors chorus Racism tag on Tea Party.....DOPES.....

They are "actors".....does this give them some god-given insight the rest of don't possess. I wander if ANY of these clowns have EVER attended a Tea Party event? I believe we all know the answer to that.
I attend Tea Party Events....I AM a Tea Partier. My candidate is Herman Cain.....explain that.

Penn may have been late to the tea-party-is-racist bandwagon, but his references to “the N-word” and lynching upped the ante significantly. Penn’s fellow actor Morgan Freeman appeared on “Piers Morgan Tonight” three weeks ago and said the tea party was motivated by wanting “to get the black man out of the White House.”

Joe Biden blames.....Yup! Bush again!

Funny....where was HE when this was going on.....ey? Didn't happen in a vacuum.

When making his case for Congress to pass a $35 billion stimulus package, Vice President Joe Biden claimed that there is “a simple reason” for the rise of rapes and murders in many cities, pointing to the “God-awful Ponzi schemes” the Bush administration “allowed Wall Street to engage in.”

Mitt does not reach out to Tea Party...at his own risk...

He can't. He doesn't stand for what they - WE stand for.

Two of America’s most active national tea party organizations say former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has made no effort to win them over, despite his apparent need to attract more grassroots support.

Obama "creates" Jobs....however no pay attached for your effort or talent....

And this is the Administration who can create job after job after job....
They just forgot to tell us they aren't "paying" jobs....a rather important component, I'd say.....

President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign is asking artists to design promotional posters that convey a message: “support American jobs.” The brutal irony for artists, however, is that they will receive no payment for their work.

Occupy Wall Street (Hearts) Wall Street...

The worst thing about Occupy Wall Street is that it's ruining a good cause: hating Wall Street. Just when opposing Wall Street was gaining momentum, these brain-dead zombies are forcing us to choose between thieving bankers and them.

If the Flea Party were really concerned about the greedy "Wall Street 1 Percent," shifting money around to make themselves richer and everyone else poorer, their No. 1 target should be George Soros.

Cain draws boisterous support at Western GOP conference....

Republicans leapt to their feet with vigorous applause over and over for Herman Cain on Wednesday, an expression of grassroots support that accentuated his continual climb in the polls, where he is now neck-and-neck with front-runner Mitt Romney.

The Debate Democrats Fear ....

Funny......if it weren't so true!

The Debate Democrats Fear

Republicans fret over 2012 friendly fire...WEENIES!

What the heck is a "Primary" for????? Hummmmmmm? Throwing flowers at one another? I seem to remember Hillary & Barack ripping each others throats out.
I hate these "Debates" ( and I use the word loosely!) because I think all they are is a hunt for "Gotcha" moments.
However how else can you find out anything about these guys?
From viewing as much as I have been able....I know Perry seems out of his realm....Mitt Romney is...well, Mitt Romney. As one Talk Show host in Boston says, there are 2 Mitt's....Nasty Willard and Wonk Mitt. Ya never know which one will emerge.
I now know Ron Paul is smart and a tad nuts.
Newt is a Professor I'd kill to take a class with but I don't want for President.
I'm impressed every time by Hermain Cain. I like that he sticks by his guns, LOVES this country and seems unflappable. A good trait.
Rick Santorium, I like his financial plan with regard to manufacturing...
Michele has disappointed me each time.....the rest...who cares.
But slugging it out in the "Arena of Ideas" is what it's all about. The "Establishment" GOP gave us John McCain and now want to serve up Mitt Romney...need I say more?

Republicans are worried the increasingly rancorous friendly fire among their presidential hopefuls could cost them their chance to beat President Obama in 2012.

For weeks, the venomous tone had been escalating as the first primaries rapidly approached and candidates fought against the notion that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was running away with the nomination.

Art Laffer Spouting Nonsense on 9-9-9 ...

And here is the "Anti" Laffer points....good ones too....

I guess somebody had to try to defend Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan. Art Laffer does so in today’s Wall Street Journal, but his defense is really embarrassing.

First, Laffer describes the business tax component of 9-9-9 as a 9 percent tax on “net business profits.” This is false. Cain’s business tax, as described by his campaign, applies to “Gross income less all purchases from other U.S. located businesses, all capital investment, and net exports.” Because wages and salaries are not deductible, this is a tax on much more than just business profits.

“9-9-9” (What Herman Cain’s Not Saying) ...

I enjoy the back and forth about this Plan. I tend to like Art Laffer alot, the Architect of Reaganomics...and he likes this. But the points both pro and con are great and thought provoking. Herman Cain has struck a cord.
You don't see people ripping their hair out over Mitt Romney's 59 page plan...or whatever it is he's proposed today. Remember...it would be hard to debate the merits of Mitt's plan because like him...I'm sure it changes daily with the prevailing political winds....

Let me begin by saying I have a lot of respect for Herman Cain. He is a vision of what being an American is all about. You work, you persevere, and you succeed. He is an attractive American and my hat is off to him for his success as a leader in the business world.

However, during the debate last night, Mr. Cain made the unfortunate choice to include “accountants” in his list of folks who seek to purposely attack his plan for their own gain.

Mini Solyndra: Truck Stop that Received $424,000 in Stimulus Fund Grant Goes Broke...

OK...I have just about had it.
If this type of loan had gone on during the Bush Administration, it would be banner headlines above the fold EVERY day until "someone paid" with their career. The drum beat would be deafening. Yet, this and MANY others are on page 20 below the fold....
Mainstream Reporting...?....heck...you can hear crickets chirping.
The out right incompetence of people making these decisions is astounding. As a small businessperson...I'm awed daily by the influence of the stimulus money slush fund. You can't convince me it's anything but.
This isn't about Obama...this is about his Administrations inability to run this country.
Oh, I take that back...they can run this country. Right off a cliff.

The company qualified for the taxpayer-funded stimulus grant even after it had filed for bankruptcy. Yes, bankruptcy.

Obama has more cash from financial sector than GOP hopefuls combined, data show ....

But he's "down" with Occupy Wall Street.....you get whiplash trying to keep up with this man.

Despite frosty relations with the titans of Wall Street, President Obama has still managed to raise far more money this year from the financial and banking sector than Mitt Romney or any other Republican presidential candidate, according to new fundraising data.

Reid signals government jobs must take priority over private-sector jobs.....

Of course! Why would he worry about the Private Sector? After all...they are just the ECONOMIC ENGINE OF AMERICA! We've already lost 55/M Manufacturing jobs in America....that not enough for you?!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Wednesday indicated Congress needs to worry about government jobs more than private-sector jobs, and that this is why Senate Democrats are pushing a bill aimed at shoring up teachers and first-responders.

Rick Perry to announce flat tax as part of economic plan...

“I want to make the tax code so simple that evenTimothy Geithner can file his taxes on time,” Perry said, a reference to the embarrassment that complicated the Obama treasury secretary’s confirmation in 2009.

Laffer Defends the 999 Plan...The Gandalf of Supply Side Economics....

Economist Arthur Laffer, the Gandalf of supply-side economics, spoke well of Herman Cain’s 999 Plan during an interview with HUMAN EVENTS last week. Today he expanded his thoughts in a Wall Street Journal editorial. Laffer begins by offering a critique of the current paperwork-avalanche tax code:

Arthur B. Laffer: Cain's Stimulating '9-9-9' Tax Reform...

It used to be that the sole purpose of the tax code was to raise the necessary funds to run government. But in today's world the tax mandate has many more facets. These include income redistribution, encouraging favored industries, and discouraging unfavorable behavior.

Occupy the Golf Course...

You just knew there was a punch line coming, didn’t you?

Senate votes to end 'Fast and Furious' gun program...ya think?!

Just think.....to stop this...they actually had to have a VOTE......as if it should ever have reached this point?!

The Senate voted Tuesday to effectively block the Justice Department from undertaking gun-smuggling probes like the flawed "Operation Fast and Furious" aimed at breaking up networks running guns to Mexican drug cartels but that lost track of hundreds of the weapons, some of which were used to commit crimes in Mexico and the United States.

Santorum to Romney: 'You Just Don’t Have Credibility, Mitt, When It Comes to Repealing Obamacare' ....AMEN!

Mitt flips more than a crooked Real Estate Developer! I would not trust him here at all!

Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania launched a frontal assault on former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in last night's Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas, Nev., telling Romney he lacked credibility when he claimed he would repeal Obamacare because Romney's own health-care plan in Massachussets was the model for Obamacare.

Obama: Taxpayer-Funded Bus ‘Decked Out Pretty Good’ ...looks like the "Death Star"

When Obama took a similar taxpayer trip through Midwestern battleground states in August, the Associated Press reported that the Secret Service purchased a bus for the trip at a cost of $1.1 million.

Republicans, including Obama’s 2008 opponent Arizona Sen. John McCain, criticized the use of the campaign-style bus reportedly manufactured in Canada. McCain told USA Today the president was “clearly campaigning” on the “taxpayer's dime.”

Gallup: Herman Cain Is Top Choice of Tea Party and Southerners...

Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents who identify themselves as supporters of the Tea Party favor Herman Cain for president by a 9-point margin, according to Gallup.

Obama: 1, Informed Public: 0

Almost no one wants to cut government spending as much as I do. Ron Paul made a good start. But if we live in a world where our federal government spends one of every four dollars, and regulates virtually every aspect of our lives and businesses, it is a matter of democracy that we have that data. If government ever gets out of the business of trying to engineer the economy and society, I can relax about the Abstract. But that is not the world we live in now.

At the very moment our government is trying to do more than ever, it is informing us less than ever.

Dear Herman Cain: Replace 9-9-9 with a Flat Tax

Intrigue over the 9-9-9 plan has lifted Herman Cain to the top position (or number-two spot, depending on the poll) among GOP presidential candidates. Of course, Cain's dynamic personality and clear articulation of conservatism are also factors. Nevertheless, without the earthshaking proposal of abolishing the current tax system, Cain would still be a candidate struggling for name recognition from the second tier.

The Power of Herman Cain

One of my first church experiences was also the most memorable. It was a spontaneous occurrence, when the power went out.

I was in a huge, mostly black church in a rough part of town. This was at a time when church shootings in that city had reached epidemic proportions.

The pastor had started delivering his sermon when suddenly most of the lights went out. The stage and the auditorium were very dimly lit.

The Nightmare called Romneycare..

Welcome to your future. Mitt Romney left it as OUR future when he abandon Massachusetts....THIS is what is coming!

Lauren and Nick Destito had a wonderful life in Plainville. They paid their bills and raised two sons in a lovely four-bedroom colonial that they were just eight years away from owning outright.

But the economy collapsed in 2008 and soon crushed the small tree and landscaping business the couple had run since 1984.

Two Vans Hit Chinese Toddler…18 Passers-by Ignore Her Suffering...OMG....

And this is the nation we are going to roll over for?????

Gruesome footage of a toddler falling victim to two successive hit-and-run accidents and then being ignored by many passers-by at the scene last week in southern China continued to galvanize the nation Monday, prompting a fierce debate on the state of morality in Chinese society.

GOP looks at international tax revamp...

The idea behind the system is to encourage multinational companies to bring back their money to the U.S., where supporters of the change say the money could be invested. Proponents also argue the move would make U.S. companies more globally competitive, particularly since most industrialized countries have tax systems in which companies are only taxed in the country where it is earned.

Axelrod Underestimates Cain...

Yesterday, during an appearance on Morning Joe, David Axelrod dismissed Herman Cain's candidacy. (h/t Mark Hemingway of The Weekly Standard.)

I, for one, am glad that Axelrod doesn't take Cain seriously because if Axelrod isn't taking Cain seriously then it means that President Obama isn't taking Cain seriously. It means that the Obama White House has tunnel vision which is concentrated almost exclusively on Mitt Romney.

The Woman on the Plane

I love Ben Stein. He always puts life in perspective...however....I don't entirely agree with his final summation. However I'll let that slide...he wasn't feeling well.....

Monday
Here I am in my sickbed in Beverly Hills. I traveled last week from LAX to DCA, where I sat one row in front of the absolutely fattest woman I have ever seen. How she got on the airplane and down the aisle to her seat is a puzzle. She was so large that even sitting still, her ample knees pressed against the back of my seat.

Obama passes on meeting with 'Occupy' activists...hehehe

Ha! He wants to praise from a distance...just in case. Hasn't got an honest bone in his body....

President Obama has taken nearly every opportunity lately to express support for the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters, but he failed to meet with some of the movement’s activists when he had the chance on his Southern bus trip.

A group of “Occupy” activists in Greensboro, N.C., asked for a meeting with the president, who stayed overnight Monday in a local hotel. But Mr. Obama didn’t bite.

Romney Hasn't Earned the GOP Nomination

Notwithstanding the fact that not a single ballot has been cast in any of the Republican primaries, there seems to be a concerted effort by the liberal media to bestow the GOP nomination upon former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.

Video: The ‘Horse Soldiers’ of 9/11...Never Forget!

Their secret mission: secure northern Afghanistan by advising the warring tribal factions that formed the Northern Alliance. During the 2011 Veterans Day Parade on November 11, a new monument to these men — and to all Americans in uniform — will make its way down New York City’s famed Fifth Avenue on the way to its final home, a stone’s throw from Ground Zero.

There ARE alot of reasons NOT to vote for Romney!re

Romney, we are told by establishment Republicans, is the smart choice for nominee, because his moderate positions (such as implementing the prototype for ObamaCare) will appeal to independent voters. Maybe so, but Mitt has handed his enemies propaganda gold in a campaign that promises to be the dirtiest ever, and fought by the other side over issues of personality, against an incumbent who, however inept his presidency may be, is still liked by a majority of the public.

Herman Cain: Runaway Slave

I keep having images of Herman Cain barefoot, covered in sweat and mud, wearing an old patchwork shirt and handmade burlap pants held up by a rope rather than a belt, out of breath and frantically running for his life; to freedom. Menacing sounds of barking dogs in the distance focused on Cain's scent. Not far behind, hot on Cain's trail, are black overseers determined to keep their fellow black slaves in check for their white liberal Democrat massas.

OccupyWallStreet Squatters Mock 9/11 ‘Shrine’ Statue...and we're surprised?

These folks just tire me.....

Activists at the Occupy Wall Street protests, either ignorant about the statue’s history or indifferent to it (the Occupy instigators, after all, mourned the death of Osama bin Laden), have mocked the sculpture as a supposed symbol of capitalism.

Kaczynski provided several photographs, including one he snapped himself in Zuccotti Park this morning:

Hermain Cain...Black American

We were reminded of these things in 2008 when Barack Obama was elected in part due to the color of his skin (and the promise of America’s first “African-American President” and a fulfillment of Martin Luther King Jr’s dream). Now just look what this focus on race got us: an inexperienced president whose solution for the ailing economy was to raise taxes, take over healthcare, nationalize certain automobile manufacturers, and regulate the financial sector to death (literally). And this is what makes Herman Cain’s announcement that he’s a black American rather than an African-American so refreshing: he’s turning back the dial on this race-above-all-else bunk.

8 Miracles That Saved America?.....

He can kick ass are write a great column!

Immediately afterward, I started reading their other book, "Seven Miracles That Saved America," and I have been equally inspired by it. But it has prompted me to wonder: Is there an eighth miracle coming and needed to save our republic again?

Herman Cain: Rocket Fuel for America....and he's NOT Mitt Romney!

What is particularly frustrating is that the party out of power, the Republican Party, is supposed to be carrying the torch for these values. But it’s barely happening. The Party has become bogged down with careerists, rear view mirror thinkers, and its own establishment of inside the beltway elite.

Nothing could speak more to this problem than establishment attitudes toward the remarkable Herman Cain.

Monday, October 17, 2011

Herman Cain leading in the polls now comes under fire from his opponents - and he doesn't care!

“He’s more of a Wall Street guy. I’m more of a Main Street guy,’’ Cain said of Romney, who co-founded and ran a venture-capital firm before entering politics.

“I actually made some pizza myself,’’ Cain said.

Cain said he’s connecting with GOP voters “because of my enthusiasm and positive attitude.”

Herman Cain - You lost me at Hello....

Visiting New York this week, I found the organized street protests against Wall Street were the talk of the town. But I’m sorry -- they lost me at hello.

Their rants to the media and those unfortunate enough to cross their paths have been all over the map -- from tirades over big business, to 9/11 conspiracy theories, to admitting not even knowing why they’re there -- but a common theme is that they’ve set their sights on rich people.
