The Obama administration is making it easier for bureaucrats to take away guns without offering the accused any realistic due process. In a final rule published last week, the Justice Department granted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) authority to “seize and administratively forfeit property involved in controlled-substance abuses.” That means government can grab firearms and other property from someone who has never been convicted or even charged with any crime.

The huge "No!" vote on restoring the mention of God, and including the administration's own stand on Jerusalem—that wasn't liberal, it was extreme. Comparing the Republicans to Nazis—extreme. The almost complete absence of a call to help education by facing down the powers that throw our least defended children under the school bus—this was extreme, not mainstream.

If you happened to watch the RNC on Chris Matthews’ network last Tuesday, you missed the speeches of Senate candidate Ted Cruz, former Congressman Artur Davis, Puerto Rico first lady Luce Vela Fortuno, Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and congressional candidate Mia Love. Why were these intelligent, accomplished Republican leaders scrubbed from the broadcast?

Because they aren’t white.

If we go by the percent of GDP, it's a close call. If we want to play it safe for the fact-checkers, we might have to say that the difference between Obama's and Bush's spending was merely the cost of the Iraq "Combat Mission," or merely the total cost of the Iraq War through Bush's presidency. An anonymous letter sent to Romney's accounting firm and political offices in Tennessee and published online sought $1 million in hard-to-trace Internet currency to prevent the disclosure of his tax filings, which have emerged as a key focus during the 2012 presidential race. Romney released his 2010 tax returns and a 2011 estimate in January, but he has refused to disclose his returns from earlier years.

Paul Ryan Supports Prayer in Public Schools....

When I was younger - I attended first Catholic School - then public.
I remember ( 45 years ago ) kids voluntarily NOT saying the morning prayers and also not saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
I did not agree even at that age...but respected their right. I do again today.
But even though I am a totally lapsed Catholic with no intention of returning there....I believe one of the things missing in this Country's soul is the presence of God in our lives.... let the States decide.

I breifly met Chris Matthews in NH at a Rudy Giuliani appearance during the 2008 ( I think ) election.
He came into the hall and wondered at our sanity for standing there waiting for Rudy. However, he was funny, kind to the kids there and generally very nice to all.
He later reappeared when Rudy was speaking - again, very pleasant...though very perplexed at our joy at seeing and listening to America's Mayor.

When Deval Patrick took office in January of 2007 Massachusetts had 3,272,000 jobs. In July of 2012 Massachusetts has 3,249,000 jobs. That is a net loss of 23,000 jobs.

Cars were still being produced there during the spring of 2009. Ryan’s point was that the Obama campaign had demagogued the anticipated closing and made a promise to keep the plant open with government help – a promise President Obama bailed out on after taking office.

The federal government has closed a criminal probe of alleged financial misconduct by Arizona lawman Joe Arpaio, who styles himself as "America's toughest sheriff," and no charges will be filed, the U.S. Attorney's Office said on Friday.
