Court Upholds Domestic Drone Use in Arrest of American Citizen .....

A judge denied a request to dismiss charges Wednesday against Rodney Brossart, a man arrested last year after a 16-hour standoff with police at his Lakota, N.D., ranch. Brossart's lawyer argued that law enforcement's "warrantless use of [an] unmanned military-like surveillance aircraft" and "outrageous governmental conduct" warranted dismissal of the case, according to court documents obtained by U.S. News.

Making Health Care Worse .....

As if this was possible....it's already an oncoming freight train...headed right at US!

As Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan recently argued, the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) was sold on “three broken promises.” The administration pledged that its massive health-care-reform law would be paid for without hiking taxes on middle-class families, that it would reduce the cost of insurance, and that it would allow all Americans to keep their existing insurance if they wished.

Culture Does Matter - By Mitt Romney ......

But what exactly accounts for prosperity if not culture? In the case of the United States, it is a particular kind of culture that has made us the greatest economic power in the history of the earth. Many significant features come to mind: our work ethic, our appreciation for education, our willingness to take risks, our commitment to honor and oath, our family orientation, our devotion to a purpose greater than ourselves, our patriotism. But one feature of our culture that propels the American economy stands out above all others: freedom. The American economy is fueled by freedom. Free people and their free enterprises are what drive our economic vitality.

Palin Defends Chick-fil-A & Responds to Dick Cheney .....

I agree. I have no problem at all with Gay Marriage. I have gay friends in unions that have far outlasted our "traditional" friends marriages. However, the selective "outrage" of the Gay Community and the Left makes me crazy. Why aren't they protesting Mosques? It's just the hypocrisy.

“I’m speaking up for him and his First Amendment rights and anyone else who would wish to express their — not anti-gay people sentiment — but their support for traditional marriage,” Palin said, referring to Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy. “President Obama and Joe Biden — they both supported the exact same thing until just a few months ago when they had to flip-flop to shore up the homosexual voter base.”

White House issues embarrassing apology to Charles Krauthammer over Churchill bust gaffe .....

The Obama presidency is fond of issuing apologies for America on the world stage, but very rarely makes them at home to Americans. White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer has just issued one to Washington Post columnist and Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer, who last week wrote an op-ed berating the Obama administration for removing a bust of Sir Winston Churchill from the Oval Office when it came to power. Pfeiffer had issued a stinging attack on Krauthammer, alleging that his Churchill bust reference was “100 percent false.” Krauthammer was of course 100 percent correct, and the British Embassy in Washington even issued a statement contradicting Pfeifer’s remarks.

"Fair Taxation" Rant: Warren didn't build that either...

Last week, Professor William Jacoboson at Legal Insurrection noted that Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama's words sounded an awful lot like another person's. That person is progressive thought leader George Lakoff, who developed the whole narrative. So those 990,000 views of her views on "fair taxation", yeah Warren didn't build that.

Our new Red Mass Group videography intern, Evan Kenney, took a look.

Where were you in '62?....

I read this over the weekend and have been thinking about it ever since.
It's true....I believe Ann Coulter had an article similar to this recently.
Folks...we're about 2 steps away from the proverbial cliff.
If we jump....America is probably lost forever and this great god-given experiment is gone into the history books like so many others.
If we pull ourselves back and stand firm...there's a chance...and it's JUST a chance we'll find her; and with that - ourselves again.
There has never been a nation so blessed....so incredible as ours.
Most of us standing today are the direct result of that success and bounty....even if we're struggling and broke.
How....HOW can we let our Founders down?
Do we have the strength to stand firm?
Even though I'm more exhausted than I have ever felt in my life....I have it....do you?

Fifty years ago, in the summer of 1962, America was a far different place than it is today. President John Kennedy was presiding over Camelot and despite fouling up the invasion of Cuba, his approval rating hovered around 80%. Unemployment was 5.2% with the average family income at $6,000 a year.

Inhofe: Obama Administration 'Doesn't Want All These Pink Slips Going Out 5 Days Before Election' ....

President Obama is trying to prevent thousands of layoff notices from going out a few days before the November election, Sen. Jame Inhofe (R-Okla.) said on Tuesday.

Happy Birthday, Milton Friedman! Here Are Our Favorite Freidman Quotes.....

Words to LIVE by!

For today’s “top whatever” list, we’re going to commemorate the 100th birthday of Nobel Prize-winning conservative economist Milton Friedman. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Friedman, here’s what you need to know: he rescued the U.S. economy from the clutches of President Carter’s stagflation [i.e. rising inflation and unemployment] and, as the Wall Street Journal’s Stephen Moore puts it, he “saved capitalism.”

Do more guns equal more murders? ....

Since the inept attempt by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and Brian Ross to link the killer in Aurora, Colorado, to the Tea Party collapsed, the new narrative – driven by such bastions of the Establishment as The New York Times, the Associated Press, Time magazine, and The New Yorker – has been to blame, not the killer, but the alleged laxity of gun control laws in the U.S. Personalities ranging from CNN’s Piers Morgan, to Juan Williams of Fox News Channel, to film critic Roger Ebert have all joined in to exploit the killings, to lament the alleged cowardice of American politicians before the fearsome NRA.

Friedman's Legacy of Fighting for School Choice for All.....

America’s students don’t need teachers hand-picked for them by the teachers unions or by the federal government. They need the power to pick their own teachers. Parents need the freedom to send their children to the school of their choice—to find the academic and social environment that works best for them.

NY Teachers Union Protecting Sexual Predators....

Teacher's Union isn't a problem...? Really?!

Brown goes on to point out that even when the arbiters do punish sexual predator teachers the sentence is often more like a slap on the wrist after which the teacher is right back in the system to perpetrate more acts of predation.

It makes one wonder just who is representing the interests of these kids who’ve had their innocence stolen by sexual predator teachers?

UN fails to produce gun control treaty, but fight isn't over .....

Amen! Stay vigilant!!!

Without apology, the NRA wants no part of any treaty that infringes on the precious right of lawful Americans to keep and bear arms. Let there be no confusion: Any treaty that includes civilian firearms ownership in its scope will be met with the NRA’s greatest force of opposition.

Mayhem at GM.....

When there is no fear of failure...when there is no incentive to survive...when you know the money spicet is going to get turned on ANYTIME you need money because of an election year....of course it is doomed to fail.
I have a small company....each day feels like War. Each day fear of failure keeps us moving forward....fear if losing EVERYTHING you have worked for for 30 years is a GREAT motivator.....
Fear of nothing is not....

I’m having trouble understanding all this. I’ve been told that after its Rattnerized bailout GM is “back,” a dramatic ”success story.” The president himself has boasted “General Motors is back on top.” Yet now a few weeks later Bloomberg says the company is in a “slump”–it’s right there, in the headline: “slump.” How can the bailed out, comebacked, turned around success story GM be in a slump when the U.S. auto market as a whole is growing rapidly?

Federal Court finds Obama appointees interfered with New Black Panther prosecution......

What a surprise.....yawn....and nobody will do a thing about it....

The documents reveal that political appointees within DOJ were conferring about the status and resolution of the New Black Panther Party case in the days preceding the DOJ’s dismissal of claims in that case, which would appear to contradict Assistant Attorney General Perez’s testimony that political leadership was not involved in that decision. Surely the public has an interest in documents that cast doubt on the accuracy of government officials’ representations regarding the possible politicization of agency decision-making.

The NRA's Political Muscle? It's Got Nothing on Hollywood.....

But Republicans, weary of the NRA invincibility narrative, wonder why there's no discussion of Hollywood's lobbying clout. After all, some argue, movie studios and television stations reap huge profits selling violence -- like the kind featured in the Batman movie whose fans Holmes targeted -- and have developed a sophisticated political and lobbying strategy to ensure government doesn't get into the business of regulating it.

Rep. Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania Gets a Standing Ovation in the House of Representatives....

If ONLY something would come of a speech like this...I too would shout USA! USA!

Representative Mike Kelly, speaking on the House floor today, managed something very rare in the history of the institution – he got a standing ovation. Applause is usually forbidden in the house, but Kelly‘s blistering attack on regulatory red tape and Washington’s culture of control was apparently so powerful that several of his fellow house members couldn’t resist showing their support, clapping, standing up and shouting “USA! USA! USA!”

Would you applaud this way? See Kelly’s speech below and decide for yourself:

Pelosi: President Obama's Been to Israel ‘Over and Over Again’ ...

No, no, and no. Contrary to Pelosi's apparent claim, President Obama hasn't been to Israel over and over again. He's never been as president, which is certainly what Pelosi implied. Well, maybe he visited Israel "over and over" before becoming president, and that's what Pelosi meant to say? No. When he was senator, Obama went on two trips to Israel, once with several other freshmen members of Congress, and then as a presidential candidate. And he'd never been interested enough in Israel to visit as a private citizen. So much for the notion that Obama's been "over and over again."

Scalia: Guns May be Regulated.....

When we lose Scalia...there is NO HOPE.

Justice Antonin Scalia, one of the Supreme Court's most vocal and conservative justices, said on Sunday that the Second Amendment leaves room for U.S. legislatures to regulate guns, including menacing hand-held weapons.

"It will have to be decided in future cases," Scalia said on Fox News Sunday. But there were legal precedents from the days of the Founding Fathers that banned frightening weapons which a constitutional originalist like himself must recognize. There were also "locational limitations" on where weapons could be carried, the justice noted.
