I fear more than anything it was.
If that be the case....we know all those wonderful, brave giving souls who gave their last full measure of devotion will have died for....?.....They will have died for us.

I am a gun owner....I treasure my Permit as 99.9% of the law abiding permit holding citizens do. I have a great respect for the power of the firearm.....we aren't the yahoo's breaking the laws....right now I'd check out Eric Holder.......

In less than six weeks, 56,000 people applied for a permit under Wisconsin's new concealed carry law and thousands more bought handguns, swamping the state agency handling the required background checks.

The applicants so far amount to about 1% of the state's population, and very few of them have been rejected for a permit. The number of state background checks for handgun purchases is also up more than 50% for the year - another sign of the large numbers of people taking advantage of the new concealed carry law.

A holiday display featuring a nativity scene and menorah will not be removed from an Air Force Base in California, officials announced Saturday.

The festive display is set up along a main drive heading into Travis Air Force Base and features statues of Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus, along with a large Hanukkah menorah. It’s part of a bigger display featuring Air Force jets and Santa Claus. Such holiday displays are a base tradition, according to Sacramento ABC affiliate KXTV-TV.

One day he buys 10,000 shares of XYZ at $25 per share, and the next day, he takes advantage of a nice uptick of $1.00 in XYZ and sells at $26 per share. He makes a tidy profit of $10,000. But because his broker is non-compliant, the IRS now withholds 30% -- not of the profit, but of the gross proceeds of the sale! So the client now receives the sum of $260,000 minus 30%. The foreign investor is unhappy because his $250,000 investment has become $182,000. If he wants his money back, he must file a U.S. tax return.

No investor would accept such conditions. Hence, an FFI must either comply with the invasive regulations of FATCA or simply abandon the U.S. markets.

Apparently the sign violated the rules of the Homeowners Association (HOA) that governed the subdivision where the Russells lived. In all, sequestration’s spending ceilings and cuts could effectively trim anywhere from $500 billion to over $1 trillion from projected long-term defense spending.

General Electric, one of the largest corporations in America, filed a whopping 57,000-page federal tax return earlier this year but didn't pay taxes on $14 billion in profits. The return, which was filed electronically, would have been 19 feet high if printed out and stacked.

And though I'm not a deeply religious person...beliefs and truths handed to us by divine providence...yes, by God...by something much bigger than all of us.
When did we allow a 30 second sound bite to frame our decisions that affect our lives and that of our Grandchildren. When did we allow ourselves to become so vacuous - so lazy.

We can because that soldier.....the one who dies...in WWI, Civil War, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, WWII, Afghanistan.....need I go on. The One....of many, who gave that last full measure of devotion....so we could be lazy, selfish...lacking morally, excuse makers....pathetic whiners.
When did we allow this to happen....?
Where we vilify success and ask for our "Fair Share" when we have the best of us dying unwatched in strange lands.
How did we forget who we are?
I thank God today for our military....for without them these days I wonder what we'd look like as a Nation.
Without their SELFLESS DEVOTION to something bigger than they are.
Stop being lazy...we owe it to them.
Stop being selfish and whining for your "fair Share"...go out and get it YOURSELF.
Tell the Government to go to hell. Go back to doing what the Constitution told them was their job. They have after all "Sworn to uphold it".
Learn, Listen, Study....talk....battle in the Arena of Ideas...not in the Parties....but in the Arena of Ideas...
