Outrage: Pic Shows Saudi Flag Raised Above American Flag in Colorado School

ACK....Hypocrisy Howler.....Baloney...another "backpedal" Special...there is only ONE flag in this nation - ONE...the Red, White & Blue!!

Some, of course, would wonder why a Saudi flag was up at Bauder Elementary to begin with. Carpenter explained that the school has international flags posted around the facility. They are intended to recognize the diverse nationalities of both students and parents, alike, he says.

Gibson Guitar CEO to Attend Obama‘s Jobs Speech as Marsha Blackburn’s Guest

Sorry...but......hehehehehehehehehehehehehe...........

Gibson Guitar CEO Henry Juszkiewicz will attend President Barack Obama’s Thursday address to Congress on jobs as Tennessee Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s guest.

Federal agents raided the legendary guitar factories last week in Memphis and Nashville in a probe of Gibson’s alleged importation of illegal wood, seizing property and sending workers home.

Get Ready For Pre-Filled Tax Forms!

If the Government wasn't already BIG enough...intrusive ENOUGH....now they want to pre-determine what you WILL pay the Government each year in taxes......I missed this article when it first came out....OMG....

The reason this idea is proposed as a revenue enhancer is the conviction that Americans are under-paying their taxes by $345 billion per year. The IRS would have an overpowering, built-in incentive to pre-fill those tax forms with as few deductions and credits as possible. To have a fighting chance of collecting those deductions and credits, taxpayers would need to keep the IRS updated on a great deal of personal information throughout the year.

Perry the Purist - OK so far by me....

Perhaps the most thoughtful insight into the economic philosophy of the Lone Star State chief were his comments during the debate about chastising the use of government spending to stimulate the economy. President Obama, Perry argued, “has proven for once and for all that government spending will not create one job. Keynesian policy and Keynesian theory is now done. We'll never have to have that experiment on America again.” Perry appears not to believe in government manipulation of the economic system to spur job creation and activity in the economy. While Perry does not say it outright, he de facto endorses a more Austrian approach or a pure free market approach to economics.

Thuggery in the Wisconsin Union Battle

This is the very root of the problem.
NOBODY is willing to give!
I had an argument with a good friend last night during the GOP debate. She didn't like the thought of Perry "touching" her Social Security - HA! THERE IS NONE! It's a myth. It's been used as the Governments ATM for years and years...it's given away to anyone with a good story or connections...not to whom it was a promise made!
If we ALL don't wake up and realize we ALL HAVE SKIN in THIS game....we're done. Social Security will be the least of our problems!

Not that Wisconsin Republicans were all that keen to join Labor Day parades, suspecting catcalls and maybe flying objects -- in short, the foul play they've come to expect from rabid public employee union devotees, led by teachers, and camp followers. All this furor because GOPers acted with resolve to stop the hemorrhaging of the state finances by curbing excessive public employee benefits enacted by previous (Democrat) regimes. Finally someone stood up for ordinary Wisconsin taxpayers.

The more things change...the more they remain the same!

Jimmy the Lesser is keeping up the family legacy:

To applause, Perry defends Texas death penalty

I LOVED this answer. He did not waiver. Though I do not agree with some of his policies...I DO like a man to stand by his convictions. I think the American people are tired of the inmates running the asylum.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry is defending the death penalty in Texas and says he's never struggled with whether any of the inmates executed during his time as governor might have been innocent.

When Perry defended capital punishment, he drew strong applause from the scores of people in the audience at the Republican debate Wednesday night at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Obama’s Failure on Jobs: Four Damning Charts

I can give you alot more damning evidence of this failure of leadership and they all have human faces....

President Obama may have a buddy-buddy relationship with big labor, but he’s no friend to ordinary workers. Here are four damning pieces of evidence.

1. The unemployment rate remains above 9 percent according to the Labor Department data released on Friday.

This is about 2-1/2 percentage points higher than Obama promised if would be at this stage if we adopted the failed stimulus.

One Small Step for Jobs, One Big Target for Republicans

President Obama’s $300 billion jobs package is unlikely to be large enough for Democrats, bold enough for independents, or palatable to Republicans, even though a broad consensus exists on the basic sense of its policies. That means that it might not create a single job, no matter how well-crafted it is.

DeMint: Palin’s Not Running

Think I saw it in her eyes in Manchester, NH. When the crowd thundered "Run Sarah, Run"....she looked wistful...A kind of "Thanks" to you all - but no thanks....she's more powerful right where she is!

DeMint: Palin’s Not Running

Sources: Obama Administration To Drop Troop Levels In Iraq To 3,000

This is truly frightening.....when politics totally trumps good sense and our military's safety.....we learned NOTHING from Vietnam.

Panetta, touring sites Tuesday in advance of the Sept. 11 10th commemoration, insisted "no decision has been made" on the number of troops to stay in Iraq.

"That obviously will be the subject of negotiations with the Iraqis and as a result of those negotiations. As I said no decision has been made of what the number will be," he said.

More Republicans skipping Obama’s jobs speech

Good Lord...am I starting to see backbone? My heart be still!

When President Obama delivers his address on a new job-creation plan to a joint session of Congress on Thursday, he won't be speaking to a sold-out crowd. Several lawmakers are still determining whether it is worth their time to stay in Washington to hear the president, and some are already planning to skip it.

With 24 Days Left in Fiscal Year 2011, Congress Has Passed Zero Funding Bills

Why is anyone surprised? This is the way they "Blame" the "Other" side for not agreeing with anything....seriously! Easy to say when you stand for nothing!

While the federal fiscal year for 2011 ends on Sept. 30 – 24 days from now -- Congress has yet to pass a single appropriations bill for fiscal year 2012, which starts on Oct. 1. Not one appropriations bill has been sent to the president to sign into law.

Sen. John Cornyn Writes to Air Force About Class Suspension Over Bible Verses

I am not religious...but why are so many people out there feeling "Threatened"....?

Following Cornyn’s letter, there‘s no telling what the Air Force’s response will be. As The Blaze reported last month, David Smith, the spokesman for the Air Force’s Air Education and Training Command, says that the MRFF’s concerns have led the military branch to conclude that the inclusion of the Bible verses is an “inappropriate approach” in today’s society.

Texas Wildfires Offer Real Time Leadership Challenge to Perry

This is what we have always been missing in Ma.

“Not paying attention to politics right now” is how the conservative Republican explained it after he ditched a high-profile campaign appearance in early-voting South Carolina to tend to his duties as governor. His attendance at a debate Wednesday night in California — it would be his first on the national stage — is now in question.

Video Game Allows Players to Slaughter "Tea Party Zombies" Like Sarah Palin and Bill O'Reilly

Here is the thing...."Most" Tea Party gatherings are FAMILY'S....lots of children.....future patriots...OUR future. Some nut is going to start ingesting this insanity coming from all the way up to our own VP and open up somewhere. It's going to be children who pay for this insanity!

Controversial online video game "Tea Party Zombies Must Die" allows players to slaughter Tea Partiers and famous conservatives with a variety of weapons. The graphic, offensive, and violent game was created by StarvingEyes Advergaming but does not have any obvious connection to or advertisement for any other group.

More Bad News on Jobs: Stores Trim Holiday Hiring Plans

Although the vast majority of retailers — some 68 percent — plan on keeping holiday hiring at roughly the same level as last year, a quarter expect to trim hiring plans for seasonal workers, according to an annual hiring survey conducted by the Hay Group, a global management consultancy.

That’s a greater number than last year, when 17 percent of the retailers Hay surveyed said they would scale back hiring.

Saving the American Dream: Fix Debt, Cut Spending & Restore Prosperity

Between this and Paul Ryan...there may be a shot at righting the ship!

The Heritage Foundation offers a detailed plan to redesign entitlement programs, guarantee assistance to those who need it, and save the American dream for future generations.

Big Labor Discourages Job Growth

It is no surprise that unions are strong allies of the President, whose policies from the stimulus to Obamacare have included privileges for organized labor. Having spent $1.1 billion on politics and lobbying in the last election cycle, unions will continue to hold a prominent seat at the table in 2012.

The labor unions have helped lead to the staggering loss of manufacturing jobs in the United States, and the demands they have made on employers and governments helped create conditions of high unemployment in Detroit and across the country.

First Draft of Her Story: Sarah Palin Announces What a Future Presidential Campaign May Look Like

First, as part of a five point plan to revive America’s economy, Palin called for the elimination of the federal corporate income tax as a way to “break the back of crony capitalism.” Her reasons for eliminating the federal corporate income tax, though, were more important than the actual proposal because it was a way in which she drew a line to differentiate herself from not only President Barack Obama, but nearly every other GOP presidential candidate, most notably Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Gingrich and Cain Perform Exceptionally at Palmetto Freedom Forum

There is not a more exceptional person in the 2012 GOP presidential field than Herman Cain in terms of life experiences and private sector success. And there is not a person who is capable of explaining American exceptionalism better than Newt Gingrich.

These strengths were on display on Labor Day as both candidates particiapted in the Palmetto Freedom Forum with three other GOP presidential candidates.

Gallup: Uninsured Have Increased Under Obama and Since Obamacare Was Enacted

The percentage of American adults who lack health insurance coverage has not only increased during the presidency of Barack Obama, but it has continued to increase since Obama signed his signature piece of legislation last year mandating that by 2014 every American carry health insurance, according to a Gallup survey released today.

Another Civil War?

My next statement is uncharacteristic of me because, as a former intelligence officer, business executive, homeland security professional and now an associate dean, my hallmark has always been prudence and ensuring my words are measured. But I feel it needs to be said.

A little home pride here...my younger brother is a retired Air Force Hog Driver....LOVE this plane!

Goverment Federal Family - GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THEY SAY YOU CAN PICK YOUR FRIENDS..BUT NOT YOUR FAMILY.....UH...IN THIS CASE...I CAN AND WILL..no thanks!

In a creative use of language, the government may be trying to, perhaps not so subtly, convince you of its well-meaning intentions. In a day and age where the term “federal government” evokes feelings of disillusionment, and for some, even disgust, the Obama administration is opting for the softer, and evidently preferable term “federal family.”

But does “federal family” elicit warm, familial feelings, or does it instead conjure images of Big Brother and 1984?

Report: White House Already Seeking to Downplay Jobs Speech, Not ‘Be-All and End-All’ Plan

SURPRISE...SURPRISE....YAWN................

After some very public drama this past week about the logistics behind President Barack Obama’s address to a joint session of Congress on jobs, White House aides are reportedly already trying to downplay the significance of what the president will be talking about Thursday night.

According to Fox News, word is privately spreading that Obama will not be presenting his entire jobs plan:

Bush Aide: Chris Christie Is ‘Actively’ Considering 2012 Presidential Bid

The speculation simply won’t die. On Sunday, former George W. Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson said that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was “actively” weighing the option of jumping into the Republican presidential race amid voter discontent with the current field.

“I don’t think Republicans regard this as a strong field,” Gerson said, during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week.“ ”So there is still talk of people getting in the race. Not just [Sarah] Palin but last week, Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey was in Chicago and had two meetings with serious Republican groups from the Midwest.”

Unexpected Detour: Marine One Forced to Land

In a highly unusual maneuver, President Obama’s 30 minute flight to the Presidential mountain retreat at Camp David this afternoon was diverted to an undisclosed landing near Frederick, Maryland and a motorcade assembled to drive him to the nearby site. White House press secretary Jay Carney tells ABC News a “bad weather call” was made before the President and his younger daughter Sasha even boarded the aircraft.

Carney says they have now arrived safely at Camp David. It remains unexplained why the President would be allowed to board Marine One knowing that the landing site on the mountain was experiencing weather making a landing difficult.

Obama admits his regulatory agenda is killing jobs | Campaign 2012

Why would he recommend them? Because he hasn't got a CLUE what it means to run a business....JEEZ....

C. Boyden Gray, White House Counsel to President George H. W. Bush, was not surprised by Obama's retreat. "I don't know why they proposed them in the first place. The normal five year review does not come up for another year and a half. The standards they were proposing would have operated as a quasi-construction ban in most urban areas. It just didn't make any sense." The Bush EPA last finalized the current ozone standards in 2008. The EPA is not required to review them until 2013.

Cheney: 'Honored to be compared to Darth Vader'

Talk show radio host Laura Ingraham opened her show this morning with the Darth Vader theme song to introduce former Vice-President Dick Cheney recalling the nickname given to Cheney by the left.

"I always had a soft spot for Darth Vader," said Ingraham as she began her interview, "He was the most interesting person, other than Chewbacca in the Star Wars series. . . c'mon."

"I love the music and Star Wars reference," Cheney responded, "I was honored to be compared to Darth Vader."

They're All in This Together...

Asked during the 2008 presidential campaign about his relationship with the left-wing radical Bill Ayers, Barack Obama replied that Ayers was just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood." He implied that to even bring that questionable relationship out of the shadows was a mean-spirited, guilt-by-association political tactic. Ayers, Obama went on, had done something deplorable "forty years ago when I was six or seven years old."

If We Let the Government Take Our Guns, We’ll Have to Run and Hide Like Londoners

When England banned the private ownership of handguns within its borders, I remember the National Rifle Association (NRA) airing videos of steamrollers rolling over mounds of confiscated weapons and crushing them to bits. I remember seeing videos of containers full of guns – handguns and long guns – being placed in large compactors where they too were crushed beyond recognition.

The NRA’s message was simple: Elect people to Congress and the Senate who are anti-gun and it won’t be long till they’re steamrolling your father’s shotgun or your .38 revolver or your buddy’s Colt .45.

And the NRA warned that once that happened, emboldened criminals would come into our homes and businesses without hesitation: for they’d know that we, as a disarmed citizenry, have no way to turn them back.

Maxine Waters Calls Banks ‘Gangsters’ and Says Government Will Tax Them Out of Existence

So nice to know our elected officials aren't in anyway abusing their PEOPLE GRANTED powers and/or not adhering to the letter of the law...

While speaking at a Los Angeles Town Hall event recently, Rep. Maxine Waters introduced an interesting idea when it comes to banks and loan modification. According to her, it’s up to the federal government to make sure people can afford their mortgages. So much so that it’s time the president “bring the gangsters in, put them around the table, and let them know that if they don’t come up with loan modifications and keep people in their homes, that they’ve worked so hard for, we’re gonna tax them out of business.”

Poland: Vandals Desecrate Holocaust Memorial at Jedwabne — Site Where Hundreds of Jews Burned Alive

"They were flammable"....what kind of mind can even think that for a second...?

Vandals desecrated a monument marking the spot in Poland where hundreds of Jews were burned alive during World War II, scrawling “they were flammable” and a swastika on the memorial.

The government, Poland’s Jewish community and Holocaust survivors on Thursday all strongly condemned the attack on the site, one of the most notorious cases in which local people collaborated with the Nazis in killing Jews during the German wartime occupation of much of Eastern Europe.

Obama halts controversial EPA regulation

Maybe he is FINALLY seeing everything he does is a JOB KILLER! However....for every Regulation he stops...they sneak a boatload through the back door....

President Barack Obama is directing his administration to withdraw a controversial proposed regulation updating government smog standards.

The withdrawal comes two days after the White House identified seven proposed regulations that would cost the economy at least $1 billion each. The proposed updated smog standard was estimated to cost anywhere between $19 billion and $90 billion, depending on how strict the standard would be.

Carney Explains Obama Job Speech

I DO wonder how much he is paid to lie to the American People...I hope it's alot, cause he's given up his soul for these guys......

This morning on MSNBC, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney gave an after-action report on the White House’s side of the story and brushed off any notion that the speech scheduling decision was a petty partisan stunt. Carney said of the White House’s decision:

Gibson CEO Says Feds Told Him Problems Could be Avoided with Madagascar Outsourcing - Oh Hell, why not?

The tale of the Gibson guitar raid — the one focused on the legendary guitar maker’s alleged importation and use of illegal wood — has taken an odd turn. Now CEO Henry Juszkiewicz is claiming the Feds told him that some of his problems “would go away” if the company used Madagascar labor.

In an interview with Beck radio affiliate KMJ 105.9 in Fresno, California, Juszkiewicz told host Chris Daniel that the government made the point “explicitly:”

The Essential Question in Any Political Debate - Alexander's Essays

The most vital debate of the 2012 political cycle, indeed the essential question in any political debate, is one that you will not hear much about unless you are represented by one of the authentic conservatives who have carried the banner of the Reagan Revolution into the 21st century, or you are represented by one of those much-maligned Tea Party "radicals."

Screw Up, Move Up, Cover Up: The Fast and Furious Edition

There are now enough Operation Fast and Furious officials playing hide-and-seek in the Obama administration to fill a "rubber room."

That's the nickname for taxpayer-subsidized holding pens, such as the ones in the New York City public schools, where crooked employees are separated from the system and paid to do nothing. Perhaps the White House can stimulate a few construction jobs by adding an entire rubber room annex for "reassigned" scandal bureaucrats at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It's getting mighty crowded.

ObamaCare and the Jurisprudence of Clarence Thomas

In the glossy pages of The New Yorker, in graceful prose and with good reporting, the dreams and nightmares of the admirers of Barack Obama and his policies lie exposed.

The dreams include Ryan Lizza's report last April in which he quoted an Obama adviser as saying the president's policy on Libya was "leading from behind." This week, as Tripoli seemed about to fall, the magazine's editor, David Remnick, hailed Obama's "calculated modesty."

The nightmare appears in last week's issue, in Jeffrey Toobin's lengthy article on Supreme Court jurisprudence, titled "Partners" and subtitled "Will Clarence and Virginia Thomas succeed in killing Obama's health-care plan?"

From Battlefront to Boardroom - Karl Rove

Leaders in commerce and warfare share a common vocabulary—words like strategy, tactics, dominance, conflict and victory. Success in the military provides young people with leadership and management experience that can contribute to success in business. But the transition from waging war to conducting commerce is not always easy.

Fortunately for over 1,500 veterans of America's recent conflicts, banker Sid Goodfriend felt after the attacks of 9/11 an ever-increasing debt to the young men and women he saw protecting our country in time of peril. So after a quarter-century on Wall Street, Mr. Goodfriend retired and in 2007 started repaying that debt.

Terrorist credits Hollywood for his recruitment

A Balkan Muslim who killed two U.S. Air Force servicemen in March has told a German judge Wednesday that he was motivated after seeing the movie “Redacted,” which was made as a political statement in 2007 by Hollywood director Brian De Palma, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and several high-profile movie industry producers.

Labor Secretary Hilda Solis - Protect All Worders ....especially "Illegal"...

Can you spell "AMNESTY"...???!!!

At a Wednesday breakfast event, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis defended her agreements with Mexico and other countries to apply U.S. labor protections to illegal immigrants.

“I protect all workers here in this country,” she told The Daily Caller at a breakfast hosted by The Christian Science Monitor. “I have a vested interest in protecting all workers that work here in the U.S. Period.”

Oversight Committee - US Postal Service ...tick...tick...tick....Default Countdown ...another Too Big To Fail...?!?

U.S. Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe has said that the United States Postal Service will default on its obligations to the federal government on September 30, at the end of the current fiscal year.

Now the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has launched SavingThePostalService.com to educate the public about the Postal Service’s financial troubles and some possible solutions. The Postal Service lost $8.5 billion in the last fiscal year. (RELATED: Issa spokesman: NYT burying Fast and Furious story shows bias)

'God told us to come' - Glenn Beck's show in Jerusalem

Beck cries out "Lo Ira" (Hebrew for "I shall not fear"). He explains that these words were spoken by every Jew as he endured hardships throughout history – from the bible, through the Holocaust to the present day. He asks his followers to join an international movement he is about to establish and speaks of the obstacles ahead. "The last threat on my life took place about five minutes ago," he proclaims.

I doubt it as I look around and notice the heavy security presence. But his thundering voice takes over my cynical thoughts. "Lo Ira!"

A disaster called Obama ... Ya think?!

Barack Obama is solidifying his status as the worst president in American history. The leader who promised us a bright future of peace and fraternity is leading the American empire – and the rest of the world with it – into a dark abyss. Ever since he settled into the Oval Office, Obama has been hopping from one disaster to the next, making every possible mistake, boosting enemies and disregarding allies while ruining everything he touches in the process. To our regret, the heaviest price – for the time being at least – is being paid by residents of the Middle East.

Big Labor vs. Taxpayers ...who wins?

Betting if I hit the button here - Massachusetts is going to curry Number 1 favor with Big Union.....

Until recently, union bosses—not elected representatives—have been in control of the government employee compensation process. Using taxpayer dollars they obtain through mandatory dues, they elect the management they later negotiate with. However, across the country in states such as Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan, taxpayers are fighting back and the tide of Big Labor control is starting to change.

Now there is a new online tool to give taxpayers and policy makers critical information on which states favor Big Labor. The Competitive Enterprise Institute and Crossroads GPS recently launched a “Big Labor versus Taxpayer Index” that analyzes 1,150 labor laws and regulations throughout the country and exposes states that make coddling Big Labor a top priority.

California bill to fund college for illegal immigrants advances

This from a State about to drown in a sea of debt....will probably have to be bailed out by US because ...ya know...it's too big to fail....yet, they continue to fiddle while Rome burns....

The legislation would still need to pass the Assembly and be signed by Governor Jerry Brown, a Democrat, to become law.

Proponents acknowledge that illegal immigrants who attend college are still not able to find legal employment after graduation, but they say the bill could eventually help spur the federal government to grant those students citizenship.

Obama's solar stimulus snafu x 3!!!

I believe this is Solar Plant #3 to fail...at least two got Government funding....

President Obama made a high-profile visit in May 2010 to Solyndra Inc., a solar-panel manufacturing plant in Fremont, Calif. The company received $535 million in loans from the Energy Department and was a centerpiece of the Obama administration’s economic stimulus effort. “Companies like Solyndra are leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future,” Mr. Obama chirped. On Wednesday, Solyndra closed its corporate headquarters, announced that it’s filing for bankruptcy and laying off 1,100 workers.

Alaska's regulatory stranglehold

The oil-rich state has abundant resources waiting to be tapped. “We want to explore more. We have a lot more oil to find,” Mr. Parnell said. “But we have been stymied by the federal government.” In particular, the Interior Department and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are tying his hands. He pointed to the EPA dragging its feet for five years to grant permits for Arctic offshore drilling, while the same permits are routinely granted in a matter of months for the Gulf of Mexico.

'Too big to fail' is alive and well - Washington Times

Mr. Buffett's 50,000 preferred shares in the country’s largest bank will pay an amazing 6 percent annual dividend. It’s a great deal for the billionaire investor, but not for everyone else. Mr. Buffett will receive his money before any common stockholders get paid. With the rest of the market seeing interest rates that are effectively at zero percent, it’s worth asking why Bank of America was willing to pay Mr. Buffet such a handsome premium. If it’s because no one else was willing to provide funds, that’s a sign the bank is in serous trouble, not that it’s turning the corner.

Boehner to Obama on joint session date: No

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Finally! A decision with some stones!!!!!!

Speaker of the House John Boehner sent a letter back to President Obama regarding the president's request for a joint session of Congress on September 7. However, Mr. Boehner told the president that the date of September 7 would not be available and proposed September 8 instead. Below is an excerpt of the letter:

Study: Stimulus Funds Primarily Used to Poach Workers, Not Hire Unemployed

Hiring isn’t the same as net job creation. In our survey, just 42.1 percent of the workers hired at ARRA-receiving organizations after January 31, 2009, were unemployed at the time they were hired (Appendix C). More were hired directly from other organizations (47.3 percent of post-ARRA workers), while a handful came from school (6.5%) or from outside the labor force (4.1%)(Figure 2). Thus, there was an almost even split between “job creating” and “job switching.” This suggests just how hard it is for Keynesian job creation to work in a modern, expertise-based economy: even in a weak economy, organizations hired the employed about as often as the unemployed.

And soon...it'll be the "Ugly".....

So let me break it down for you: while most folks think of the disabled as someone like a war veteran who is confined to a wheelchair because they sacrificed one or more limbs for their country, it also includes drunken yahoos careening down the interstate in an 18-wheeler.

Obama Calls For Extension Of Gas Tax To Fund Highway Construction, Repair

Ya wouldn't mind if any of this "tax" ever got spent on a road. Driving these days is close to a Survivor episode....and notice now it's always "we'll lose a million jobs"....always a million......

Though the president describes the proposal as a transportation bill, its key component is the federal gas tax, which has been 18.4 cents per gallon for nearly two decades. The money is used to fund road construction and repair, as well as other projects -- the tax costs Americans an average of $100 a year.

Obama schedules jobs speech on the same night as GOP debate

Classless amateur cheap shot.....bet ya NO national station reports it this way. ABC only said Boehner "Hadn't responded yet"....wouldn't it be nice if Boehner had the "you know what's" to say NO.....all this is is a "Gotcha"....not a jobs speech.

President Barack Obama will make his long-awaited speech about jobs Wednesday night to a joint session of Congress at the same time that the Republican presidential candidates are scheduled to debate at the Reagan Presidential Library in California.

The Justice Department filed to block AT&T’s planned acquisition of T-Mobile and the news is going to shake up the wireless industry.

AT&T portrayed its acquisition of T-Mobile as a way to boost 4G services, build out its network, alleviate a wireless spectrum crunch and boost jobs. AT&T just Tuesday said it would repatriate 5,000 call center jobs to the U.S.

Father Slits Daughters Throats in Honor Killing After Raped by Ghaddafi Forces

What more can one say?

This “honor killing” is documented in a report by a Boston-based group called Physicians for Human Rights (PHR). Sadly, this is just one of the horrific stories to emerge after PHR sent team members to Misrata back in June. Researchers interviewed 54 residents, then followed the discussions up with the report. Through its text, readers are exposed to stories about Libyan war crimes and violence. According to Bloomberg, the report reads:

"Not just about us".....hummmmmmmmmmmmm....I think those Twin Towers were OURS....with OUR people in them. Yes there were foreign nationals killed that day....however I'm betting most of them were "US".....so no, you are wrong.....it IS ABOUT US!

Copies of the internal documents were provided to The New York Times by officials in several agencies involved in planning the anniversary commemorations. “The important theme is to show the world how much we realize that 9/11 — the attacks themselves and violent extremism writ large — is not ‘just about us,’ ” said one official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe internal White House planning.

Obama's proposed regs would cost billions annually - It's official.....Obama is clueless..........

President Obama told Speaker John A. Boehner in a letter Tuesday that his administration is considering seven regulations that would cost the U.S. economy more than $1 billion per year, although he added that these rules are “merely proposed.”

All told, the seven proposed rules cited by Mr. Obama would cost companies at least $38 billion per year and could cost as much as $100 billion annually.

Dick Cheney: 'I Didn't Change. The World Changed'

No one should have expected that Dick Cheney's memoir would be anything but frank. Make that brutally frank. Such as this characterization of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's description to President George W. Bush of her proposed nuclear-weapons agreement with North Korea. It's on page 487:

"Looking for a way to explain this situation, Rice said, 'Mr. President, this is just the way diplomacy works sometimes. You don't always get a written agreement.' The statement was utterly misleading, totally divorced from what the secretary was doing, which was urging the president, in the absence of an agreement, to pretend to have one. . . . "

Politico Asks: 'Is Rick Perry Dumb', Goes On to Answer, Basically, No

You have to hand it to Politico, they know how to gin up publicity.

"Is Rick Perry dumb?" asks the top headline on the website today. Yet on balance, the corresponding article by Jonathan Martin isn't all that bad, noting that Perry has often been underestimated politically, much to the peril of numerous Republican and Democratic opponents who are now footnotes at best in Texas political history.

NBC's Lauer to Cheney: You're the 'Most Divisive Political Figure in This Country in a Century'

Why I don't watch Matt any longer.....his agenda is worn on his sleeve these days...

On Tuesday's NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer began a hostile interview with Dick Cheney by running through various derisive labels for the former Vice President: "You've been called 'controversial' and 'divisive.' Some people have called you the most divisive political figure in this country in a century." Cheney simply quipped: "You left out Darth Vader."

How Many More Obamas are Commonwealth taxpayers supporting?

It was bad enough when President Obama put the responsibility of taking care of his entitled Auntie Zeituni on the tax payers of the Commonwealth... but now our roads and public safety officials have to be threatened from the scourge that is this guy's drunken uncle?

Was it The Boston Globe or The Boston Herald who ran this story? No, it was The Australian and The Washington Times.

Living American dream illegally

It almost sounds like the American Dream. A 2011 version of it, maybe. Because the 67-year-old Kenyan who happens to be President Obama’s uncle wasn’t supposed to be living here, let alone driving drunk here. He’s what some people call undocumented. What others call illegal.

Immigration authorities had been on the lookout for Onyango and found him last week after Framingham cops busted him on an operating under the influence charge. He’s currently locked up in Plymouth County Jail on an immigration warrant.

Radicals Plan Egypt-Style Occupation of Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC

Swanson is working with a coalition of groups to launch a protest with a goal of shutting down the U.S. government.

These tactics will be familiar to those who remember The Blaze exclusive report on the protest plans of SEIU’s Stephen Lerner and his plans to “swarm” Wall Street to the point of bringing down the stock market.

U.S. State Department Warns U.S. Citizens in Jerusalem to Avoid Beck Event

The timing and specifics of the event warning have led some to claim that ideological opposition to the Beck event– not just concerns for American safety– could have influenced the decision.

The “Emergency Message” addressed to U.S. Government Employees and visiting citizens in Jerusalem is available on the Consulate’s website. The message posted to the site on August 24th stated the following:

Rick Perry and the Soc Sec Ponzi Scheme - he's RIGHT!

There goes Rick Perry again, saying things that make liberals’ heads explode.

Speaking to a crowd in Iowa this weekend, the Texas governor and GOP presidential hopeful doubled down on statements he made in his book, Fed Up!, that Social Security is essentially a pyramid scheme.

“It is a Ponzi scheme for these young people,” Perry said. “The idea that they’re working and paying into Social Security today, that the current program is going to be there for them, is a lie. It is a monstrous lie on this generation, and we can’t do that to them.”

The Hunger Games - Blue State Despair & Harry Potter - Red State Values!

Amen! Obliviate this book....talk about a disappointment. The promising series just spiraled down into total despair....no hope or honor.....

The new trilogy answers Pottermania in more than just popularity — it represents a radically different point of view. Master Potter and his friends, for all their British accents, turn out to be very red-state while Collins’s Katniss Everdeen could not be more blue-state.

Let me explain.

Barack Obama's uncle has been arrested and held as illegal immigrant

Official records say Onyango Obama, 67, was picked up outside the Chicken Bone Saloon in Framingham, Massachusetts, at 7.10pm on August 24. Police say he nearly crashed his Mitsubishi 4x4 into a patrol car, and then insisted that the officer should have given way to him. A report filed with the Framingham District Court said that a breathalyser at the police station registered his blood alcohol at 0.14mg/100ml of blood, above the state limit of 0.08mg.

The proposed PROTECT IP law won't protect anything and, duh, will hurt Internet security, too

You may think I pick on Republican congress-o-critter Darrell Issa a lot, and you may be right. He’s often doing or saying something kinda dumb. But, although it’s been a while, I also pick on Democratic Sleestak Senator Patrick Leahy, also often for doing something I consider particularly ill-advised.

See? I’m an equal opportunity party-knocker.

Beckaphobia

Israeli radical leftists have long had an intense hatred toward American conservatives. This is in spite of the fact that American conservatives are almost all pro-Israel. In actuality, the hatred of Israeli leftists toward conservatives is precisely because conservatives are pro-Israel. Like in most other countries, the radical leftists in the Jewish State are anti-Israel in addition to being anti-American.

The Media's War Against Dick Cheney

After September 11, 2001, the networks channeled liberal displeasure with Cheney’s strenuous anti-terror agenda, and the far Left unleashed venomous assaults on Cheney — casting the Vice President as a “terrorist,” “a goon,” and a war criminal. After a suicide bomber attacked the base in Afghanistan where Cheney was visiting — leaving the Vice President unharmed — HBO’s Bill Maher argued: “I’m just saying if he did die, other people, more people would live. That’s a fact.”

If Only Obama Would Abdicate - Amen....

This boringly ineffective would-be demagogue in the Oval Office keeps trotting out the same tired, petty, counterfactual lines in every one of his pompous, detached-from-reality speeches -- and he did so again in his Saturday radio address. So shopworn is his refrain, and so counterproductive are his policies (both enacted and proposed), that the markets tank just about every time he opens his mouth, and the economy suffers with each minute he continues to occupy the White House. His resignation from office, in abject embarrassment at his failures, would be a great first step toward economic recovery, not to mention a balm to the souls of tens of millions of Americans sick of his condescension, his prevarications, and his incompetence.

Obama Executive Order Creates ‘Office of Diversity and Inclusion’

OMG...one thing....
When I was reading Atlas Shrugged: I laughed at the absurd Dept. names the Gov't kept creating.....
Hello? I'm not laughing anymore!

“Eliminate demographic group imbalances in targeted occupations and improve workforce diversity. To attain this, special initiatives have been created targeting specific groups, including Hispanics, African Americans, American Indians, women and gays and lesbians.”

GOP Presidential Candidate Herman Cain Attends Glenn Beck ‘Restoring Courage’ Western Wall Wailing Wall

I just find this guy terrific!

In a poignant and touching display, GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain traveled to Israel to attend Glenn’s Restoring Courage event and visited Judaism’s sacred Wailing Wall.

Are Deficits Unpatriotic? Apparently only if you are a Republican!

On the day before Independence Day 2008, Senator Barack Obama delivered this opinion of deficit spending at a campaign event:

The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents. Number 43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back — $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That’s irresponsible. It’s unpatriotic.

(Emphasis mine.) President Obama has now added $4 trillion all by his lonesome… in less than half the time it took “Number 43.” Does he still think deficits are “unpatriotic,” or is that the wrong word?

77% of Democrats (and Ron Paul) Voted Against Rules Of Engagement That Protect Our Troops

Interesting...........

Amendment requires that the rules of engagement [ROE] allow any military service personnel assigned to duty in a designated hostile fire area to have rules of engagement that fully protect their right to proactively defend themselves from hostile actions.

Wanted: The Reagan Courage

Ronald Reagan is rightly remembered for his fortitude in disposing of Soviet Russia in the Cold War, but perhaps the bravest decision of his presidency was not a matter of foreign policy. When Reagan gave Fed Chairman Paul Volcker the full political backing necessary to wring inflation out of the U.S. economy, Reagan did the politically unthinkable: Intentionally cause an economic recession.[1]

Geno’s Cheesesteak founder dies - English Only in his store - America came first...

Vento was also known to be a fierce supporter of his community and according to his son, Geno, he gave hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to various charities. The story in the Philadelphia Daily News also talked about Tony Vento’s strong ties to the police department.

Philadelphia Police spokesman Lt. Ray Evers told the Daily News. “He was one of, if not our biggest supporter. He came through every time.”

‘Midnight Cowboy’ Rides Tall in Jerusalem

Assuming a flinty posture on the exacerbation of terrorism aimed at Israel, Mr. Voight intoned, “The Palestinian radicals have only one prayer on their lips: To remove every Jew from Israel.” He received a standing ovation when he said, “We will not bend to terrorism in any way, shape, or form for the sake of peace.”

Department of Energy Used Stimulus Funds For ‘Climate Change’ Research in Maldives, India and Australia? Jeez...I'm SO surprised...Yawn.....

The U.S. Department of Energy released a statement last week revealing it used $60 million of the $1.2 billion given to the agency in economic stimulus funds for purchasing “advanced-technology research instruments” to study climate change. While some might consider the expenditure frivolous, especially given the nation’s financial woes, it should be noted that some of the equipment was not even intended for use in the U.S. but rather was deployed to facilities in the Maldives, India and Australia.

New national debt data: It's growing about $3 million a minute, even during his vacation

Swallow all liquids in your mouth before reading any further.

Updated numbers for the national debt are just out: It's now $14,639,000,000,000.

When Barack Obama took the oath of office twice on Jan. 20, 2009, CBS' amazing number cruncher Mark Knoller reports, the national debt was $10,626,000,000,000.

That means the debt that our federal government owes a whole lot of somebodies including China has increased $4,247,000,000,000 in just 945 days. That's the fastest increase under any president ever.

5.9 magnitude quake rocks East Coast

We're outside Boston and my chair and files cabinets started shaking!

A 5.9 magnitude quake center in Virginia rocks the East Coast, with tremors felt as far south as North Carolina, as far north as Buffalo and Boston, and as far west as Detroit.

ObamaCare "Saves Money" By Costing You Money

Why are doctors writing prescriptions for over-the-counter medication? Because part of the ObamaCare fraud involved claiming billions in “savings” by taxing over-the-counter drugs purchased with health savings account money, unless a prescription is written.

Exit the CEO of Standard & Poor’s

And all of this is totally unrelated to the recently announced Justice Department probe of S&P, which was in the works forever, and is absolutely not meant as any sort of government pressure against the only one of the Big Three credit agencies to apply reasonable standards to the ridiculously unsustainable debt load of our spendaholic government. No, that’s an investigation into the improper rating of mortgage securities, which led to the massive subprime crisis three years ago – in other words, a time when questionable ratings by S&P actually promoted disastrous Democrat financial policies.

USPS Urges Unions to Allow Layoffs of 220,000 Employees

Facing a projected loss of more than $8 billion for this fiscal year and a projected need to reduce its workforce by 220,000 employees by 2015, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has begun contract negotiations with the National Association of Letter Carriers, AFL-CIO (NALC) and on Aug. 30 with the National Postal Mail Handlers Union (NPMHU). The two unions represent 247,000 of the Postal Service’s 560,000 career employees.

Dog Lies Next To Navy Seal Casket At Funeral

Never, Ever Forget............

Petty Officer Jon T. Tumilson was laid to rest Friday in Rockford, Iowa, where an estimated 1,500 mourners came to pay respects for the fallen Navy SEAL, including his dog Hawkeye. In fact, Hakeye’s loyalty to his owner at the funeral was visible, creating a heart-wrenching image as he laid down by the casket of his owner during the entire service:

Harvey Golub: My Response To Buffett And Obama

What gets me most upset is two other things about this argument: the unfair way taxes are collected, and the violation of the implicit social contract between me and my government that my taxes will be spent—effectively and efficiently—on purposes that support the general needs of the country. Before you call me greedy, make sure you operate fairly on both fronts.

Jerusalem Post: ‘Jon Voight Slams Palestinian Terror at Glenn Beck Event’

Voight, who is not Jewish, praised Israel and the Jewish people in his speech. He made reference to suicide bombings and to the March 11 slayings of the Fogel family in Itamar.

“How have we come to a time when blowing up babies and cutting their throats are an acceptable means to a political goal?” Voight asked.

The Rebuilding of Iraq During a Raging Insurgency

I had no intention of writing a book when I returned from Iraq. However, I spoke at several conferences and numerous colleagues heard my stories, and they strongly encouraged me – in fact demanded – that I “write a book.”

I wrote the book for several reasons:

[1] To educate the American public. To let them know that there were many good things happening in Iraq other than sound bites about daily car bombings.

[2] To capture a piece of American history that was in the making.

[3] To make sure the hard lessons we learned were recorded and captured so they are not repeated by future generations.

Glenn Beck Ignites Hope in Israel

On Sunday, August 21st, former FOX News talk show host and conservative commentator Glenn Beck delivered an address laden with palpable emotion at the Roman amphitheater in Caesarea, Israel, as part of the first fixture leading up to his ”Restoring Courage” rally in Jerusalem on August 24th. Speaking to over 3,000 mostly American attendees, Beck exhorted his audience at the monumental venue built in the first century by Herod the Great to “not only love Israel but love the Jewish people as they are.”

WaPo Exposes Obama's Amnesty As Deeply Political

This is simply back-door amnesty!

The Washington Post barely covered the Obama administration’s declaration to go all soft on deportations on Friday. They ran a 320-word Reuters dispatch on A-5 with zero opponents in it, and no suggestion this new policy was a bald-faced political move for Obama to improve his sinking approval ratings among Hispanics.

But in a front-page story Monday, Post reporter Peter Wallsten calmly explained that this is exactly what it was: “While most of Washington was embroiled in the debt-ceiling drama last month, about 160 Hispanic leaders from across the country filed into the White House one day, largely unnoticed. For two days, they enjoyed full access to top presidential advisers, Cabinet members and administration officials from across the government.”

Despite Economy, Ohio, U.S. Gun Sales Defy Gravity

The number of background checks—along with federal excise tax totals—is considered one of the most accurate measures of gun sales. While not all checks lead to purchases, a very high percentage do.

On the national level, the quarterly Firearms and Ammunition Excise Tax Collection report released this week by the Department of the Treasury indicates firearm and ammunition manufacturers reported tax liabilities of $110.1 million in the first calendar quarter of 2011, an increase of 8.2 percent over the same period last year.

An electrifying weekend with the Chevy Volt

Last Friday, I finally got my chance. At 9:30 in the morning, a representative from GM handed over the keys to a Chevy Volt, and parked it in my driveway. Unfortunately, a mix up with another journalist who forgot to put the charging cord back in the trunk meant that I only had 14 miles of EV (pure battery power) mode left on the vehicle, and GM’s delivery guy had to go run out get me one so I could charge the car later.

So Friday afternoon I drove it sparingly, because I didn’t want to go to gasoline-assisted “ER” (Extended Range) mode too quickly. I wanted to see how far the car could go on a full charge before hitting the 1.4L gasoline generator which powers the electrical drive system for longer distance driving.
