The American Spectator : AmSpecBlog : Gov. Christie on Climate
Leaders lead.............Amen...............
Driving home from DC late last night with my satellite radio tuned to Mark Levin's show, I heard a caller add to Mark's inquiries about Gov. Chris Christie's positions on key national issues, noting Christie's power grab of moving the revenues from a cap-and-trade scheme (colloquially known as RGGI, or 'Reggie') on-budget. To which Mark kindly replied I had already made the point. As AmSpec readers recall from this."

The American Spectator : Stop the Obama Tax Hikes
Let us survey the wreckage of Obamanomics, which followed in detail the opposite of every policy of Reaganomics.
Unemployment has been near 10% for over a year now, after reaching 9.7% in August 2009. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the U6 unemployment rate, which includes the unemployed, those marginally attached to the labor force (discouraged), and those working part time for economic reasons, at 17%, nearly the highest since the Great Depression."

The American Spectator : Rubio Knows Where He's Going
TAMPA -- 'Marvin, what do we do now?' This is one of those memorable lines, familiar to most movie-goers of a certain age. The line concludes the 1972 Robert Redford movie, The Candidate, and is uttered by Redford's much compromised liberal senator-elect Bill McKay."
American Thinker Blog: Report on offshore oil drilling ban was doctored to mislead the public
In the wake of the BP oil spill, the Obama White House rushed out a report from an independent group of scientists and engineers that strongly suggested they supported a six-month ban on offshore oil drilling. Economic damage resulted throughout the Gulf region (red-state territory, by the way), thousands of jobs were lost, income plummeted, offshore drilling equipment was sent to overseas locations, oil production plummeted , prices went up, and oil exporting nations benefited from the rise in oil prices.
The problem? The White House cheated and lied."

The Bashing of American Exceptionalism - Jonah Goldberg - National Review Online
In 2008, when asked if he believed in American exceptionalism, President Obama responded, “I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.”
This reminded me of the wonderful scene in Pixar’s The Incredibles in which the mom says, “Everyone’s special,” and her son replies, “Which is another way of saying no one is.”"

Can progressives define what to be a ‘progressive’ actually means? | The Daily Caller - Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment
Right now, when I hear Progressive...I think of Big Brother...Big Government....and a cloud of distaste for American ingenuity and sense of country. Prove me wrong.....
For House Democrats, 2011 is likely to be the year of the progressives.
The midterm elections largely purged the party of moderate Blue Dogs, meaning that for the first time the Congressional Progressive Caucus will represent more than forty percent of Democrats in the House. There’s no question Democrats are now a progressive party. The only problem: nobody can agree on what the word “progressive” actually means."

Smoking bans should be amended | The Daily Caller - Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment
I don't like smoking....however...it IS legal. The Government has NO problem looking the other way when taking revenue from the tobacco industry...so these bans seem stupid and pandering.
Now that the midterm elections are over, the political climate should begin to be more business-friendly than it has been in recent years because, beginning in January, there will be many new Republican governors and state legislators who should be more favorably disposed to individual rights and freedom than their Democrat predecessors were. Among the states that will have new Republican governors are Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, New Mexico, Ohio, and Wisconsin, all of which have draconian indoor smoking bans. These bans should be either repealed or revised, especially concerning bars, restaurants, and hotel rooms."

History will be made when Boehner becomes first orange-American Speaker of the House, but will his skin color be distracting? | The Daily Caller - Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment
Funny.....skin color is only an issue if he's Republican...and Orange?
In January, America will pass another milestone on the road to full equality when Ohio Republican Rep. John Boehner becomes the first orange-American Speaker of the House."

Chris Christie’s best shot at the White House is to keep not thinking about it | The Daily Caller - Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment
In a normal election cycle, the talk of a run for president by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie would be nothing more than table talk, idle chatter indulged with the knowledge that the Republican Party abides by traditions and rules and thus usually nominates the next candidate in line."
Petition drive starts for Bachmann to run for Speaker | The Daily Caller - Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment
Forget House Republican Conference chair. One enthusiastic supporter of Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann has launched an online petition urging her to run for Speaker of the House instead."

Mystery Missile Launched Near Calif. Has Military Speechless | The Blaze
A Navy spokesperson tells News 8, this wasn’t its missile. He said there was no Navy activity reported in that part of the region.
On Friday, November 5, Vandenberg Air Force Base launched a Delta II rocket, carrying the Thales Alenia Space-Italia COSMO SkyMed satellite, but a sergeant at the base tells News 8, there have been no launches since then.
News 8 showed the video to Robert Ellsworth, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO and a former Deputy Secretary of Defense."

Is Soros Betting on U.S. Financial Collapse? | The Blaze
As the Federal Reserve undertakes its second round of quantitative easing, buying up $600 billion of government debt, the line of detractors is getting longer. New to the queue is Zubi Diamond, a U.S. financial author who says that the plan plays right into the hands of George Soros.
“This is the type of stuff we accused the communist and socialist governments of doing—interfering in free markets through currency manipulation,” declared Zubi Diamond, author of The Wizards of Wall Street, to the Canadian Free Press. “What the Fed is doing is not good for free market capitalism and it is not good for America.”"

Keep The Receipt - You’ll Want To Return Manchin After Christmas - HUMAN EVENTS
Tea Party voters will be dismayed to see the GOP spending a billion tax dollars to hire a mercenary. We might also wonder why West Virginia voted for a Senator from the Democrat Party after President Obama explicitly promised to destroy the coal industry during the 2008 campaign. It would be nice if something beyond political considerations determined whether the armed forces began using converted coal."
Honor Killing vs. Honor Dancing - HUMAN EVENTS
"I don't get into reality shows much, particularly competition shows (i.e. - 'American Idol,' 'So You Think You Can Dance,' etc.) Part of it is because I'm just not that interested. And I guess another part of me thinks there's just too much else of greater importance going on in this crazy world of ours which demands our attention, careful thought, and sometimes action.
However, just occasionally, I'll catch something on one of these shows that causes me to think about those more important issues."

Heroes - HUMAN EVENTS
PIERRE, S.D. -- Next week, America will observe its 56th Veterans Day. It hasn't always been so. In 1938, Congress declared Nov. 11 -- designated Armistice Day -- a federal holiday to commemorate the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when World War I ended. In 1954, at the urging of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Congress changed the name of the holiday to Veterans Day to honor American veterans of all wars. Then politics intervened."
GOP Lawmakers Air Strategies to Fight Health Care Law - Washington Wire - WSJ
“We have to stop the funding of Obamacare and over the next two years show the American people what the real options are to improve the system we have now. I don’t think Americans want to throw out our current system, they want to improve it."
Politics News and Analysis: Battles Loom Over Taxes, Spending - WSJ.com
House GOP Whip Eric Cantor and other lawmakers suggested that Republicans in the coming lame-duck session would press for a long-term extension of current tax levels for all earners, despite Democratic opposition. The Bush-era tax cuts expire Jan. 1 unless Congress acts before then."
Sarah Palin Takes Aim at Fed, Bernanke - WSJ.com
Sarah Palin, delving into a major policy issue a week after the mid-term elections, took aim Monday at the Federal Reserve and called on Fed chairman Ben Bernanke to 'cease and desist' with a bond-buying program designed to boost the economy.
Speaking at a trade association conference in Phoenix, the potential 2012 presidential candidate and tea-party favorite said she's 'deeply concerned' about the central bank creating new money to buy government bonds. Ms. Palin said 'it's far from certain this will even work' and suggested the move would create an inflation problem."

Lawmakers aligned with the tea party are moving quickly to show their strength by trying to ban budget earmarking in the Senate, where support is still strong for the practice critics deride as pork-barrel spending."
