Winds of Change

Yes, I feel it.....this may seal Obama's legacy more than anything. That his Administration did more to galvanize a sleeping American Electorate into the fully awake force it can be.

Do you feel it?

The tempo has changed and well understood rules no longer seem to apply to anything any longer. Just a few months ago, all we heard was the rush to spend money. TARP, Stimulus, Bailouts, Obamacare...all multi billion dollar expenses.

It's funny how the cold breath of the laws of mathematics changes everything. The laws of mathematics and economics are the liberals' hangman's noose, focusing their mind on survival of Big Government. Change is in the air, and many people now can sense that there is a seismic shift in the established order of things."

Sabotaging Conservative Victory

There's something we need to get straight before the election campaign seriously kicks off (I can't believe I'm writing that line over a year before the actual election. Something is seriously distorted in American politics): the possibility of extralegal political action on the part of the Obama administration."

White House Did Not Want GOP Response to Presidential Speech

That's the ticket! Silence the opposition when you have NOTHING of your own to offer!

The President is used to flexing his muscles and storming the public airwaves whenever he wants to sell skeptical Americans on socialist economic policies. The White House and media have before refused the GOP an opportunity to present a dissenting response, thus squelching the presentation of a balanced debate.

The GOP insisted on a response this go-round after the President’s fifth (or sixth?) press conference in as many days. CBS’s Mark Knoller reports that it was a response not wanted by the White House:"

Obama’s Prime-Time Address: A Dog Whistle to the Astroturf

Are you as tired of their "Act" as I am? I have had to bleed money for the past three years...almost lost everything we have several times and it's still not a sure bet....but these guys in DC....they think we're all stupid. They think we don't know...."Extreme" - "Hostage Taking"....who's extreme...the ones trying to put an end to this insanity or the one threatening to hold Grannies check and our military's checks hostage until he gets HIS way? This isn't whistling to his astroturf...it's more like whistling past a graveyard...

Tonight, President Barack Obama made good on his threat to Eric Cantor to take his case “to the American people.”

The people he’s counting on most, however, are not the general public, but the small core of left-wing activists planning nationwide protests at congressional offices tomorrow."

President Obama to Address the Nation Live in Prime Time Tonight on Debt Talks

President Obama will use the bully pulpit in prime time tonight and House Speaker John Boehner will give Republicans side immediately after as the two take their party’s separate cases to the American people in a high stakes and last-minute fight over the debt ceiling."

Congress Warned of Credit 'Downgrade' if War Savings Counted as Deficit Reduction

Senate Democrats' inclusion in their proposed debt package of $1 trillion in savings from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan may not satisfy ratings agencies threatening a credit downgrade since the wars were expected to end with or without a debt deal."

AARP Medicare Copyment Increases

The AARP collects 4.95 percent of every dollar United HealthCare takes in from AARP members’ Medigap plan premiums. Not allowing Medigap plans to cover seniors’ Medicare copayment costs is a disincentive for AARP members to continue purchasing the supplemental coverage.

In its letter to Congress, the AARP made no mention of any financial stake it may have in the debate over changes to Medicare copayment arrangements. An AARP spokesperson refused to answer when The Daily Caller asked for a clarification about whether or not the group believed it could be financially affected by the result."

Motorcycle Assassins Strike Again?

Another Iranian nuclear scientist was assassinated on July 23, making him the fourth to be killed in the past two years. The regime denies that he was connected to the nuclear program, and is accusing Israel and the U.S. of carrying out an act of terrorism. If a foreign intelligence service is the culprit, then it is the latest shot fired in a wide-ranging covert campaign to delay the day when Iran finally gets a nuclear bomb."

The Character Assassination of Robert Spencer

Robert Spencer has never supported a terrorist act. His crime in the eyes of the left is to have told the truth about Islamic fanatics beginning with the Islamic prophet who called for the extermination of the Jews and said in his farewell speech that he was called to fight until all men say that there is no God but allah."

Germany opens taboo-shattering Wagner festival

Good for them....I know Wagner's checkered past - however his music is wonderful.

Germany's 100th Wagner opera festival kicked off here Monday in an edition that will include a taboo-busting performance by an Israeli orchestra.

The annual tribute to the works of the 19th-century composer, a fervent anti-Semite who later inspired Nazi leaders, will include for the first time a concert by musicians from Israel, which maintains an unwritten Wagner ban.

On Monday afternoon, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and European Central Bank chief Jean-Claude Trichet led a parade of political and business elites mounting Bayreuth's famed Green Hill to the concert hall built in 1876."

Is Your IRA Going To Be Raided?

Guess I'm glad (?!) we had to liquidate our Retirement to survive the Recession.....along with everything else we had.....

The notion of government raiding personal retirement accounts for funds may seem extreme. Perhaps it shouldn't. Other governments have done it. Argentina did in 2008. Ireland has indicated it might. The worsening financial crisis may eventually move other countries in that direction.

Surely the US would never do so."

Afghan Insurgents Hang 8-Year-Old Boy

Insurgents in southern Afghanistan hanged an 8-year-old boy six days after they abducted him, the Afghan government said Sunday.

The boy’s captors had demanded that his father, a police officer, supply them with a police vehicle and he refused, said a statement from President Hamid Karzai’s office. The militants hanged the boy Friday in Helmand province’s Gereshk district."

Major GOP donors are anxious, even if Gov. Christie isn't

Just one perceived wink or a little nod in Iowa, the starting gate for the presidential primary, will send hopeful supporters into a frenzy.

Christie insists he isn’t running in 2012, but even jokingly threatening suicide hasn’t stopped influential Republicans from asking if he’s really serious about sitting out the race.

There’s a reason for that."

Is Obama a pathological liar?

And lately, the president has been lying so much that his pants could burst into flames at any moment.

His late-evening news conference Friday was a tour de force of flat-out, unadulterated mendacity — and we’ve gotten a first-hand insider’s view of the president’s long list of lies."

Soros Making More Cash With Congress

As the Administration’s push for alternative fuels grows stronger, Congress is set to consider H.R. 1380, which would create very generous tax credits to manufacturers who retrofit existing work vehicles to run on natural gas rather than on that terrifying global menace known as oil, and very generous subsidies to natural gas vehicle consumers: $7500 per car and a whopping $64,000 for heavy-duty trucks and 18-wheelers. It’s common knowledge in DC that Texas hedge-fund operator and natural gas-magnate T. Boone Pickens is the force behind this bi-partisan, pork-laden legislation, possibly because his natural gas empire would greatly profit from the sudden influx of billions of taxpayer dollars in the form of subsidies listed in the bill."

Bachmann: We’d Be Better Off If President’s Cabinet Had at Least Run a Lemonade Stand

Bachmann: We’d Be Better Off If President’s Cabinet Had at Least Run a Lemonade Stand"

House Republican Leaders Cave in Less Than 24 Hours

Amen.............

This is embarrassing.

On Fox News Sunday, John Boehner began the day saying that he wanted a deal that kept to the principles of “Cut, Cap, and Balance.”

He concluded Sunday by telling House Republicans that Cut, Cap, and Balance was off the table due to Senate opposition.

Twice the House GOP has staked out a position. Twice they have been shot up and beat to hell by the Democrats for daring to do so. Twice their leaders then threw in the towel on their plans. First on Paul Ryan’s plan and now this.

No wonder so many House Republicans are privately expressing so much anger at their leadership."

Marine's parents sued over sign of support in their Bossier City front yard

Anyone who moves into an area with a Homeowner's Association is insane. They are akin to 1984.

Marine's parents sued over sign of support in their Bossier City front yard | NOLA.com: "A south Bossier City homeowners association has sued to force a family to remove a front yard sign supporting their son's military service because it violated subdivision covenants.

The Times reports that the Gardens of Southgate filed the suit this month against Timothy and Jodi Burr, who have lived in the subdivision since 2006. The Burrs placed a large multicolored banner with a picture of their 20-year-old son, Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Corey Burr, and the phrase 'Our son defends our freedom' in January after Corey Burr was deployed to Afghanistan."

Pelosi takes a break from debt ceiling crisis and visits East Haven for DeLauro fundraiser

Bet if that was a member of the GOP - she'd be out there right now AGHAST! and vilifying them.....

Taking a “time out” from attacking the debt ceiling crisis, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi flew to Connecticut Sunday for a private political fundraiser for friend and fellow Democrat, U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro."

End of the Line - Stealth Cap & Trade!FreedomWorks

Behind the scenes, while Washington and the United States focus on the debt crisis, President Obama’s EPA has been quietly implementing one of the most radical and costly policies of his administration. Ever since the failure of cap-and-trade, the administration has turned to the EPA to carry out its radical environmental agenda. Immediately after the 2010 election Obama was quoted saying “Cap-and-trade was just one way of skinning the cat; it was not the only way.” The EPA is in the process of completing and finalizing 30 major regulations and 170 major policy rules that would impose hundreds of billions of dollars of compliance costs on the economy, killing jobs and threatening the economic recovery. Because of the disastrous affects that the EPA’s new regulations will have on the already struggling economy, many have taken to calling the administration’s aggressive stance the “EPA train wreck.”"
