Nothing to fear but we citizens - BostonHerald.com:

When Scott Brown stunned the Massachusetts establishment, some state Democrats said it was time to hit the panic button. But I didn’t know they meant that literally.

According to yesterday’s Herald, Boston City Hall has been testing ePanicButton software. “[City] workers would be able to hit a button on their computer or push a pedal on the floor to summon help if an angry taxpayer storms into City Hall or if someone arguing a parking ticket gets out of hand,” the Herald reported."

W.H. counters Cheney with Biden - Carol E. Lee - POLITICO.com:

Vice President Joe Biden's appearances on two Sunday morning talk shows this week are part of a White House strategy to both pre-empt and potentially respond to former Vice President Dick Cheney's interview on ABC's 'This Week,' where administration officials expect he'll continue to advance his sharp critique of President Obama's record on national security."

THE FREEDOM POST: Larry Summers Says Raising Taxes Creates Jobs

THE FREEDOM POST: Larry Summers Says Raising Taxes Creates Jobs:

It's no wonder the economy is in the tank. How can taking more money from American families and businesses (also know as the productive, private sector), and giving it to government bureaucrats (also known as the unproductive, wasteful, 'rat-hole' sector), create jobs? This is almost as ridiculous as Obama's V. P., Joe Biden, saying that 'we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt'.
On February 9th, Obama's senior economics adviser, Larry Summers, appeared on FOX Business to discuss the President Obama’s economic plan, which includes future tax increases, record spending, and record deficits (even after accounting for the tax increase which is very disturbing in itself). Summers, contending that increased taxes reduces unemployment said, “Almost all economists who studied these things have that kind of view.” He can't be serious, can he?"

American Thinker: Why Real Men Get Their Hands Dirty

American Thinker: Why Real Men Get Their Hands Dirty:

The other day I asked a client for her new cell number. She blushed with embarrassment, held up her left hand, and confessed that she had scribbled the number on it.

I immediately lifted my hand to show off the word 'cheese' in bold blue. We both laughed.

All over America, people have print on their hands: Pick Up Tom; Buy Milk; Call Mom. But to the Democrats and the MSM, Sarah Palin's writing notes on her palm is shameful."

American Thinker Blog: A lesson in bi-partisanship courtesy of Harry Reid:

I suppose we can now say that the Democrats are as serious about bi-partisanship as they are about reducing the deficit - but that might be unfair. It is clear from this incredible move from Harry Reid that the Democrats actually care less about working with the GOP than they do about reducing the massive debt they have run up."

My Way News - Senate Dems ax bipartisan jobs bill:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Senate Democrats scrapped a bipartisan jobs bill in favor of one they say is leaner and focused solely on putting Americans back to work, and they're all but daring Republicans to vote against it.

The new, stripped-down proposal followed criticism that the bipartisan version wouldn't create many jobs."

Feds push for tracking cell phones | Politics and Law - CNET News:

Two years ago, when the FBI was stymied by a band of armed robbers known as the 'Scarecrow Bandits' that had robbed more than 20 Texas banks, it came up with a novel method of locating the thieves.

FBI agents obtained logs from mobile phone companies corresponding to what their cellular towers had recorded at the time of a dozen different bank robberies in the Dallas area. The voluminous records showed that two phones had made calls around the time of all 12 heists, and that those phones belonged to men named Tony Hewitt and Corey Duffey. A jury eventually convicted the duo of multiple bank robbery and weapons charges."

Jackie Gingrich Cushman : Forecast: A Washington Recall This Fall - Townhall.com:

Maybe Mother Nature knows what's best. This week, she brought her own version of a government shutdown to Washington. While the Post Office might continue to work through rain, snow, sleet and hail, the snow in the capital resulted in the House suspending votes for the week and the Senate scaling back its calendar."

Larry Elder : Krugman: Bush's Deficit Bad, Obama's Deficit Good - Townhall.com:

Left-wing economist, Nobel laureate and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman hates deficits in tough economic times -- when the president of the United States is named George W. Bush.

Krugman, in a November 2004 interview, criticized the 'enormous' Bush deficit. 'We have a world-class budget deficit,' he said, 'not just as in absolute terms, of course -- it's the biggest budget deficit in the history of the world -- but it's a budget deficit that, as a share of GDP, is right up there.'"

News Headlines - PROMISES, PROMISES: War widows' futile fight : Townhall.com:

For a decade, war widows in matching yellow suit jackets and hats quietly and persistently have knocked on Capitol Hill doors seeking an end to the 'widows' tax,' a government policy that deprives them of benefits from their husbands' military service.

They are always warmly received, but that's where the hospitality ends. Despite pledges of help from scores of federal officials _ including President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi _ their long quest remains unfulfilled."
