Still Government Motors - Forbes.com:
GM CEO Ed Whitacre announced in a Wall Street Journalcolumn Wednesday that his company has paid back its government bailout loan 'in full, with interest, years ahead of schedule.' He is even running TV ads on all major networks to that effect--a needless expense given that a credulous media is only too happy to parrot his claims for free. Detroit Free Press' Mike Thompson, for example, advises bailout proponents to start 'warming up their vocal chords' to jeer their opponents with chants of 'I told you so.'"

The HR 2499 Trojan Horse
Congress is at it again!
Now they are trying to sneak in a vote that would put Puerto Rico on the path to statehood. The only trouble is, they haven't exactly told US about it (sound familiar??).
Would you please call the U.S. Representatives today and ask them to vote no on H.R. 2499? This is a trojan horse, middle of the night kind of bill that you may not have heard about yet. The Left is trying to label anyone who votes against this bill as a racist, so all representatives must be called!

Oprah Winfrey Deal With Procter and Gamble May Rock Old Advertising Business Model - ABC News
SO when is Obama gonna tell his Pal Oprah that's she's "made enough".....?

'Crackpot' Republicans Behind 'Lunatic Magnet' Arizona's 'Crackpot' Immigration Law
I wonder how he really feels?
'Crackpot' Republicans Behind 'Lunatic Magnet' Arizona's 'Crackpot' Immigration Law:
Timothy Egan, liberal reporter turned liberal nytimes.com columnist, is the latest former reporter to weigh in on Arizona's anti-immigration law, “Desert Derangement Syndrome.”
It would be hard to top former Supreme Court reporter Linda Greenhouse's hysterical (and inaccurate) conflation, in her Tuesday print-edition column, of Arizona's stricter enforcement of immigration laws with a Nazi police state, but Egan gets in his share of insults, some of them repeated from comedian Stewart, the “Mark Twain of our day.”"

My Way News - Illegal immigrants plan to leave over Ariz. law
GOOD! This is bad how????
My Way News - Illegal immigrants plan to leave over Ariz. law:
PHOENIX (AP) - Many of the cars that once stopped in the Home Depot parking lot to pick up day laborers to hang drywall or do landscaping now just drive on by.
Arizona's sweeping immigration bill allows police to arrest illegal immigrant day laborers seeking work on the street or anyone trying to hire them. It won't take effect until summer but it is already having an effect on the state's underground economy.
'Nobody wants to pick us up,' Julio Loyola Diaz says in Spanish as he and dozens of other men wait under the shade of palo verde trees and lean against a low brick wall outside the east Phoenix home improvement store."

Barney Frank Hypocrisy Hits New Record After Saying Republicans Ought To Be Embarrassed About Fannie And Freddie | zero hedge:
The Mass legislator totally loses it after penning yet another angry letter (he is good at that; being unconflicted and actually passing sensible and Wall Street influence-free laws, not so much) in which he says that the $6 trillion extra toxic debt on the US Treasury's books from the GSEs (which the democrats refuse to recognize) is really the republicans' fault. The fact that Barney was instrumental to creating the parabolic phase of the housing bubble with his idiotic statements in 2005 that there is 'no bubble', and that his commission currently refuses to deal with issues such as the GSEs and a repeat of the housing bubble is completely absent from his letter."

The American Spectator : Rush Was Right(er):
The spectacle of Goldman Sachs being hammered for 'unbridled greed' by the United States Senate on Tuesday was good for a horse laugh. Those headless horsemen who spend untold trillions without reins are missing a bit more than just a bridle. And crass insouciant hubristic callous indifference trumps greed on my list of deadly sins any day of the week."

H.R. 2499’s opponents’ plan for Puerto Rico is nonviable - TheHill.com:
Legislation is moving through the House that would provide a congressionally sanctioned process for consulting Puerto Ricans regarding their preferences as to the territory’s political status. In a recent letter to the editor (“Puerto Rico’s statehood party plots sham vote via H.R. 2499,” Nov. 6), a critic from the islands’ minority, commonwealth party made misleading claims about what this bill would and wouldn’t do."

Costly IRS Mandate Slipped into Health Bill | Cato @ Liberty
Surprise...surprise...surprise......$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Costly IRS Mandate Slipped into Health Bill | Cato @ Liberty:
Most people know about the individual mandate in the new health care bill, but the bill contained another mandate that could be far more costly.
A few wording changes to the tax code’s section 6041 regarding 1099 reporting were slipped into the 2000-page health legislation. The changes will force millions of businesses to issue hundreds of millions, perhaps billions, of additional IRS Form 1099s every year. It appears to be a costly, anti-business nightmare.
Under current law, businesses are required to issue 1099s in a limited set of situations, such as when paying outside consultants. The health care bill includes a vast expansion in this information reporting requirement in an attempt to raise revenue for an increasingly rapacious Congress."

What Are the Democrats Smoking? Now a Value-Added Tax - HUMAN EVENTS
What are they smoking?...I think they make these weird decisions dead sober....which is more frightening!
What Are the Democrats Smoking? Now a Value-Added Tax - HUMAN EVENTS:
Remember, I'm just a political analyst and pollster. Perhaps President Obama and the Democratic leadership in Congress know more than the rest of us. But with a new poll out showing the president with his lowest approval rating since taking office, the last thing I would advise him, were he to ask, would be to even hint at his potential receptivity to a 'value-added tax.' Especially with elections just around the corner."

Voters Do Not Want the VAT - HUMAN EVENTS
The problem with the VAT is that you KNOW it will be a pile-on....not a replacement. They say "it's the only way to solve our financial crisis.....do your fair share"....ACK!
Voters Do Not Want the VAT - HUMAN EVENTS:
As the Obama Administration continues to float the possibility of enacting a Value Added Tax (VAT) as a solution to the growing deficit problem, polls show that such a national sales tax is widely unpopular with the American people.
According to a Rasmussen poll, 60% of likely voters are against a VAT if it is simply a way to raise revenue for the government, with only 20% favoring a VAT to raise money for Uncle Sam."

Freedom's Lighthouse: Mark Levin Hammers Obama for his "I Do Think at Some Point You've Made Enough Money" Comment - Video 4/28/10:
Here is audio of 'The Great One' - Mark Levin - hammering President Obama for his comment in Illinois yesterday, when he said, 'I do think at some point you've made enough money.' Obama was talking about Wall Street.
Levin said the comment reveals that Obama truly 'despises the private sector generally, and he's at war with it.'"

American Thinker Blog: DC vs. America on taxes:
Like all his other promises, President Obama's no tax increase pledge to those making less than $250,000 is going out the window.
Whether or not Congress passes a Value Added Tax (VAT) or finds other ways to raise revenue, the middle class is about to be socked in the teeth with tax increase that will give the lie to the president's populist promise to raise taxes only on 'the rich.'"

American Thinker: 'Sedition' Is Constitutional:
For the past year, the Obama administration, unable to win arguments based on facts and merit, has been moving to criminalize the political opposition in an effort to artificially control the debate. First, the DHS published reports classifying conservative viewpoints as terroristic. Then hate crimes legislation was introduced to squash religious speech regarding sexual deviancy. And finally, Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein claimed the power to ban 'falsehoods,' an infraction Sunstein in his infinite nonpartisan wisdom would define and determine."

Arizona Gets Tough | FrontPage Magazine:
Racist! Nativist! Profiler! Xenophobe!
Write or say anything about illegal immigration, and one should expect to be called all of that and more—even if a strong supporter of legal immigration. Illegal alien becomes undocumented worker. Anti-immigrant replaces anti-illegal-immigration. “Comprehensive” is a euphemism for amnesty. Triangulation abounds. A fiery op-ed grandstands and deplores the Arizona law, but offers no guidance about illegal immigration — and blames the employer for doing something that the ethnic lobby in fact welcomes."

Obama plan blows secret kisses to Wall Street | The Daily Caller :
Somebody spilled the beans Tuesday, telling the truth about the financial reform bill being debated in Congress. But most media ignored it.
Rather than being the targets of this bill, Wall Street financiers will be rewarded by it. The chairman of Goldman Sachs, Lloyd Blankfein, told a Senate subcommittee, “The biggest beneficiary of reform is Wall Street itself.”"

GLENN: I'm going to put a congressman on the phone with us in just a second, but I want to explain, I want to explain a little bit of something about what you're going to hear. I want you to understand that now in Washington we can't talk about principles and more. We can't talk about anything that is real anymore. All we talk about, when you talk about anything that's happening in Washington, you must frame it in, 'This is only about politics and the future power for any given group of people.' That's really all it is."
