President Barack Obama takes debt battle to Twitter, loses more than 40,000 followers in one day
How about sitting down and working on real CHANGE instead of all this make believe posturing & Tweeting - REALLY????
Obama asked Americans Friday to call, email, and tweet Congressional leaders to “keep the pressure on” lawmakers in hopes of reaching a bipartisan deal to raise the nation’s $14.3 trillion debt limit ahead of an Aug. 2 deadline."

Angry Boehner to Senate and Administration: ‘Put Something on the Table’
Speaking on the House floor just moments after House Republicans passed a newly revised debt bill, House Speaker John Boehner scolded the Senate and the Obama administration for criticizing his House bill after allegedly showing their ineptitude in being able to put their own bill on the table.
The Speaker brazenly demanded, “it is time for the administration and time for our colleagues across aisle – put something on the table – tell us where you are!”"

Boston Scientific to lay off 1,200-plus - The Boston Globe
Obamacare cost jobs...surprise!!!!!! And this is just the beginning!
Yesterday’s move, a day after Boston Scientific disclosed it was investing $150 million and hiring 1,000 people in China, raised fears that the company will gradually shift more work to foreign sites with less government oversight and lower costs than the United States."

They've Lost That Lovin' Feeling - WSJ.com
It is that nobody loves Obama. This is amazing because every president has people who love him, who feel deep personal affection or connection, who have a stubborn, even beautiful refusal to let what they know are just criticisms affect their feelings of regard. At the height of Bill Clinton's troubles there were always people who'd say, 'Look, I love the guy.' They'd often be smiling—a wry smile, a shrugging smile. Nobody smiles when they talk about Mr. Obama. There were people who loved George W. Bush when he was at his most unpopular, and they meant it and would say it. But people aren't that way about Mr. Obama. He has supporters and bundlers and contributors, he has voters, he may win. But his support is grim support. And surely this has implications."
Apple Now Has More Cash Than The U.S. Government
Here's something to keep in mind as you follow this evening's congressional debate over the debt ceiling.
According to the latest daily statement from the U.S. Treasury, the government had an operating cash balance of $73.8 billion at the end of the day yesterday. Apple's last earnings report (PDF here) showed that the company had $76.2 billion in cash and marketable securities at the end of June.

Pelosi's Reactionary Liberalism
OK....It took a while today...but my head just exploded.....

New NASA Data Blow Gaping Hole In Global Warming Alarmism
NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth's atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed."
The American Spectat Double Standards: "Welcome Terrorists"
Today's Hypocrisy Howler...it's so hard to choose.....it's such a target rich environment of late.....
"I can only imagine the tortured, navel-gazing, years-long national discussion we'd have been subjected to if a Republican senator had held up a 'Welcome Terrorists' sign to protest Barack Obama's vote against Bush's debt ceiling hike a few years back. Happily for Al Franken, membership has its privileges."

Our Admiral Ackbar Moment — It Is A Trap
I have to wonder if it really matters. If we have voted in these people again and again that have ONLY their interest at heart - not that of anyone who voted for them ( not all on both sides...but MOST) then what is the point?
This is a sad, sad game....and the only losers are "We The People"............I will never, ever give up...but I DO have to wonder what the point is. They don't CARE WHIT about fixing problems...just about laying traps....How the hell do we combat that?
Then the Senate Democrats will send John Boehner back his own plan and dare John Boehner to kill his very own proposal. Should he try, the GOP will look as hardline and unwilling to compromise as John Boehner’s acolytes have been accusing conservatives of being this week.
In other words, John Boehner, once he sends his plan to the Senate, will yet again get played and the GOP will be forced to either accept Harry Reid’s awful changes or be blamed for causing the nation’s default — the very thing the GOP has sought to avoid."

Truthful Accounting Should Be the First Objective of Any Debt Ceiling Compromise
Amen...............
Weather will fade as the reason Washington D.C. becomes uncomfortable as debate on the nation's debt ceiling will become as unavoidable as the heat and humidity. This summer's most over-reported story naturally pits Democrats insisting on higher taxes against Republicans set on lower spending. But, before our representatives adopt either approach, they should first recognize that government accounting and budgeting is a big reason why we're in such fiscal difficulty. Any debt ceiling compromise should include a provision for more accurate government accounting and more transparent annual budgeting because we cannot improve what we do not measure...truthfully."

Would The Mainstream Media Be This Quiet If “Fast and Furious” Had Happened Under Bush?
So I'm not the only one thinking this.............
Sitting here, I wonder what the MSM would have done if they’d learned that the Bush administration had overseen the sale of 2,500 guns to “straw purchasers” who were expected to illegally transport those weapons into Mexico and get them in the hands of cartel members? Moreover, what would they have done had they learned that of those 2,500 guns, only 1,300 were ever recovered (thus leaving 1,200 in the hands of criminals throughout Mexico and along the U.S. southern border)?
In other words – if “Fast and Furious” had taken place under Bush instead of Obama, would the New York Times have reported it as quickly as they reported our phone-taps to the enemy?
You know they would have."

The Falling Price of Wisconsin Public Education
The new law, which was met with union protests unlike this generation has seen, put more power into the hands of school boards and administrators to set spending policy. That’s because spending policy was taken off the collective bargaining table, where the Wisconsin Education Association Council could manipulate the process to its own self-serving advantage. Perhaps most significantly, the new law took employee health insurance off the bargaining table, so WEAC is no longer able to pressure school boards to purchased overpriced coverage from WEA Trust, an insurance carrier established by the union."
Operation Fast and Furious Probe: Testifiers Fast on Their Feet, Republicans Furious at Evasive Answers
Now, just imagine if you will - that "Fast & Furious"...that is barely making a blip on the News Circuit...had happened under GWB's watch......
A top ATF agent repeatedly evaded intense questions on Operation Fast and Furious, otherwise known as Operation Gunwalker, and initially blamed a field agent for launching the failed investigation before finally admitting that the IRS, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement “participated in the investigation” and were “aware of the strategy.”"

Government Soliciting Contracts for Dubious CLASS Program
And we wonder why we're in debt???
Despite those concerns, Sebelius claims the law grants Health and Human Services (HHS) enough “administrative flexibility” to rework the program so it meets the law’s requirement that it be solvent over the next 75 years. The department is not expected to roll out the CLASS program details until October, but already there is doubt as to whether some of the means by which it plans to restructure the statute are beyond the department’s authority.
Why then is HHS offering to pay contractors to sell a program to the public before it has even been formed, especially when the final product may either require changes the department is not authorized to make, or fail to meet the program’s 75-year solvency requirement?"

Glenn Beck Vs. The Mob
I am reading "Demonic" right now.....even though Ann can get a little too Right for even me....she has nailed it both here and in her book! AMEN!
Of all the details surrounding the liberal mob attack on Glenn Beck and his family in New York's Bryant Park last Monday night, one element stands out. 'No, it won't be like that, Dad,' his daughter said when Beck questioned the wisdom of attending a free, outdoor movie showing in a New York park.
People who have never been set upon by a mob of liberals have absolutely no idea what it's like to be a publicly recognizable conservative. Even your friends will constantly be telling you: 'Oh, it will be fine. Don't worry. Nothing will happen. This place isn't like that.'"

New York Times Reader Kills Dozens in Norway - HUMAN EVENTS
The New York Times wasted no time in jumping to conclusions about Anders Behring Breivik, the Norwegian who staged two deadly attacks in Oslo last weekend, claiming in the first two paragraphs of one story that he was a 'gun-loving,' 'right-wing,' 'fundamentalist Christian,' opposed to 'multiculturalism.'
It may as well have thrown in 'Fox News-watching' and 'global warming skeptic.'"

GE moving X-ray business to China - Boston.com
Once more - GE stars in the Daily Hypocrisy Howler!
General Electric Co.’s health care unit, the world’s biggest maker of medical imaging machines, is moving the headquarters of its 115-year-old X-ray business to Beijing.
“A handful’’ of top managers will move to the Chinese capital and there won’t be any job cuts, said Anne LeGrand, general manager of X-ray for GE Healthcare. The headquarters will move from Wisconsin amid a broader plan to invest about $2 billion across China, including opening six “customer innovation’’ and development centers.
The division should have “double-digit’’ growth rates as the country converts from film and analog to digital X-ray technology, LeGrand said."

Obama urged to invoke 14th Amendment as debt ceiling deadline nears
Why not - he already thinks he's King............
Clyburn, the third-ranking House Democrat, said Wednesday that if the president is delivered a bill to raise the debt ceiling for only a short period of time, he should instead veto it and turn to the phrase in the Constitution that says the validity of the U.S. government’s debt “shall not be questioned.”"

Dem lawmaker: 'Nobody I know' has seen Reid plan - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room
Vote for the Reid Plan - it's better! Moody's says "It's Better"....funny....doesn't seem to exist!
A House Democrat indicated Wednesday that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) might not have party members' votes locked down for his deficit proposal.
'I'm not going to commit to something that nobody I know has seen and had a chance to analyze,' Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) said. 'I want to see it.'"
