Editorial: Unhappy ending for an unnecessary story - The Delaware County Daily Times : Serving Delaware County, PA(DelcoTimes.com):
Four and a half years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled it was OK for the city of New London, Conn., to force 15 working-class families out of their homes to make way for a riverfront hotel and office complex. The high court decided taking the homes by eminent domain was allowable so the city could enhance its tax revenues.
The Supreme Court was the last resort for the families, who thought their homes and neighborhood should not be sacrificed on the altar of the corporate gods.
Just how did all that litigation turn out for New London, its residents and its tax base?"
