Cutting the debt has nothing to do with "compassion". It's this false compassion that got us here. What are they saying...that only 45% of Americans are now employed? And we 45% have to carry ALL the others on our back - according to our Fearless Leaders. I have never not reached out to help someone in need. I have had people reach out for me when I have needed it. Pay it forward has always been the underlying current in the USA. However....making someone incapable of helping themselves isn't compassion....it's slavery.
The No. 3 Democrat in the House says he believes Congress and the White House can find a consensus on tackling the nation's growing indebtedness as long as 'a lot of compassion' is brought to table.
But Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina tells MSNBC that government safety-net programs like Medicare and Medicaid must not 'be shredded.'"
