Ah, GM. We loved them for their choo-choo train engines and we loved them for those old muscle cars like the GTO and the Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am. But while good old Detroit iron is always near and dear to any real gearhead’s heart, it’s hard to love GM itself.
You see, GM is being schmucky again.
We all know the story of Government Motors, the company that was too big to fail, so we bailed them out. We bailed them out to the tune of billions of taxpayer dollars and we (the U.S. taxpayers) still own something like 27% of the company.

Facebook said Friday it mistakenly removed a post in which Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer criticized a controversial policy decision by President Barack Obama's administration to limit deportations of illegal immigrants.
The Republican governor had said in a post Friday that Facebook censored the item she posted Thursday because it apparently violated Facebook's community standards.
Brewer didn't elaborate in her post, but she said Friday in an interview that an email she received from Facebook said the post was removed because of an included illustration.

Rick Perry’s biggest problem to getting the Republican nomination and winning a general election is Rick Perry. He is going to have to overcome attacks both from Karl Rove acolytes helping Mitt Romney and also from Democrats painting him as the second coming of George W. Bush. He will have to appeal to swing, independent voters, women, and people who are still a bit tired of the last Christian/military pilot/Texas Governor.

Where Is the Outrage At Captain Bull Malarkey and His Bus Tour?
August is such a vacuum in Washington. I would like to think the GOP might seize on it to focus on two things for which I do not think there is sufficient outrage.
The first is Barack Obama’s bus tour. It is a campaign trip. The administration is doing little to hide it and a passive press corps is even describing it as a bus tour while minimizing the fact that American taxpayers are footing the bill in its entirety.
When George W. Bush took his own bus tour, he did so with campaign funds. Barack Obama is expecting you, me, and everyone else to fund his re-election campaign. At a time when 17% of the country is either unemployed or underemployed, it is appalling that the President would use our money to fund his re-election and that re-election message would be that we need to give him even more of our money.

This is one pension that needs to be dealt with carefully...VERY. It differs greatly from Teachers etc.....we also don't want to lose the best and the brightest....

But in these days of soaring deficits, it seems everything is a potential target for budget cutters. A Pentagon-sponsored study says military pensions are no longer untouchable - they're unaffordable.
CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports high-level, closely-held meetings are taking place at the Pentagon regarding a radical proposal to overhaul retirement for the nation's 1.4 million service members - a bedrock guarantee of military service."

Sony Pictures, the company distributing next year's film, hosted a fundraiser for Barack Obama on their studio's premises in California last April. So far, Sony is the only major studio to hold a political fundraiser this cycle. According to Deadline Hollywood, Sony will release the bin Laden movie, directed by Academy Award-winning director Kathryn Bigelow, on October 12, 2012--less than a month before the presidential election."

Mrs. Obama reportedly jetted into the Eugene Airport, landing at about 11 am PDT. She and family members then headed out in a 11 vehicle motorcade for the ride to Corvallis."

Much to the disappointment of the Liberals - Rick Perry's prayer event goes off without a hitch
Overall, however, the tone was very low-key and welcoming, thanks to the foresight of the organizers, who banned the sale of event tchochkes and freelance evangelizing (if this was Perry’s doing, it was a brilliant touch). I did spot one elderly gentleman with a fanny pack stuffed with tracts; he asked me if I was praying for the peace of Jerusalem but switched off when I responded that I wanted peace everywhere."
