Obama eyes $4-bln education plan

Obama eyes $4-bln education plan: "President Barack Obama was to unveil a scheme to boost US education standards on Friday, luring states toward controversial reforms with four-billion-dollars worth of grants, the Washington Post reported.
In an interview published in Friday's paper, Obama outlined plans to help support semi-private charter schools and performance related pay for teachers, both strongly opposed by some in the country's highly decentralized education sector."
