So far, there seems to be no official tally on how many people composed the massive crowd that gathered on 8/28 at the Lincoln Memorial for Glenn Beck’s rally, but he announced onstage that the area around the Reflection Pool (which he said holds about 200,000) and the area behind the Lincoln Memorial (around 250,000-300,000) were full.

Not before, however, he got in one joke at the mainstream media.

“I have just got the word from the media that there are over 1,000 people here today,” Beck began to applause."
