7 stories Barack Obama doesn't want told - John F. Harris - POLITICO.com:
Presidential politics is about storytelling. Presented with a vivid storyline, voters naturally tend to fit every new event or piece of information into a picture that is already neatly framed in their minds.
No one understands this better than Barack Obama and his team, who won the 2008 election in part because they were better storytellers than the opposition. The pro-Obama narrative featured an almost mystically talented young idealist who stood for change in a disciplined and thoughtful way. This easily outpowered the anti-Obama narrative, featuring an opportunistic Chicago pol with dubious relationships who was more liberal than he was letting on."

Leaked emails won't harm UN climate body, says chairman | Environment | guardian.co.uk
Really? Only if we turn a deaf ear! For ONCE - hacking works! It certainly exposed this fraud. This "science" seems to have one goal....not the Earth's care...but their own pockets....
Leaked emails won't harm UN climate body, says chairman | Environment | guardian.co.uk:
There is 'virtually no possibility' of a few scientists biasing the advice given to governments by the UN's top global warming body, its chair said today.
Rajendra Pachauri defended the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in the wake of apparent suggestions in emails between climate scientists at the University of East Anglia that they had prevented work they did not agree with from being included in the panel's fourth assessment report, which was published in 2007."

Climate change data dumped - Times Online: "
SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.
It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.
The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation."

HHS would become federal giant under Senate plan | Washington Examiner:
A quick search of the Senate health bill will bring up 'secretary' 2,500 times.
That's because Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius would be awarded unprecedented new powers under the proposal, including the authority to decide what medical care should be covered by insurers as well as the terms and conditions of coverage and who should receive it.
'The legislation lists 1,697 times where the secretary of health and humans services is given the authority to create, determine or define things in the bill,' said Devon Herrick, a health care expert at the National Center for Policy Analysis."

Just a few considerations in addition to previous remarks about the explosion of the East Anglia Climategate e-mails in America. The reaction is growing exponentially there. Fox News, Barack Obama’s Nemesis, is now on the case, trampling all over Al Gore’s organic vegetable patch and breaking the White House windows. It has extracted some of the juiciest quotes from the e-mails and displayed them on-screen, with commentaries. UFO Chaser: Aliens Involved in Mysterious Calf Mutilations - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News - FOXNews.com:
SAN LUIS, Colo. — A creepy string of calf mutilations in southern Colorado has a rancher and sheriff's officials mystified.
Four calves were found dead in a pasture just north of the New Mexico state line in recent weeks. The dead calves had their skins peeled back and organs cleared from the rib cage. One calf had its tongue removed.
But rancher Manuel Sanchez has found no signs of human attackers, such as footprints or ATV tracks. And there are no signs of an animal attack by a coyote or mountain lion. Usually predators leave pools of blood or drag marks from carrying away the livestock.
Two officers from the Costilla County Sheriff's Office have investigated the mutilations but say they don't know what's killing the calves."

I’ve just had a great, very sympathetic interview about Climategate on LBC radio (London’s main commercial news and talk station) with Petrie Hosken. She told me she has been simply inundated with callers, all of them utterly unconvinced that human influence has made any significant on so-called “Global Warming”. She was desperate to get a few balancing calls from people who do believe in AGW but just couldn’t find any."

I don't begrudge the progressive left its political power. They won. They are far from ashamed to say it, and I am not afraid to admit it. What I do mind is the left's obvious neglect and disregard for the Constitution as it is written.
If the left is going to change America, first they should change the basic rules set down to guide (and limit, and in some cases prevent) their proposed changes to our country's laws and legal procedures. With that in mind, I have decided to put together a progressive guide for rewriting the Constitution."

President Obama has shattered the budget record for first-year presidents -- spending nearly double what his predecessor did when he came into office and far exceeding the first-year tabs for any other U.S. president in history.
In fiscal 2009 the federal government spent $3.52 trillion -- $2.8 trillion in 2000 dollars, which sets a benchmark for comparison. That fiscal year covered the last three-and-a-half months of George W. Bush's term and the first eight-and-a-half months of Obama's."

In September of last year, American Thinker published my article, Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis. When he entered office, US President Barack Obama promised to inject US foreign policy with a new tone of respect and diplomacy. His recent trip to Asia, however, showed that it's not working. A shift to Bush-style bluntness may be coming.
There were only a few hours left before Air Force One was scheduled to depart for the flight home. US President Barack Obama trip through Asia had already seen him travel 24,000 kilometers, sit through a dozen state banquets, climb the Great Wall of China and shake hands with Korean children. It was high time to take stock of the trip."

What an amazing few days on the road this has been. Your spirits have been high, your faith strong and your spine unbendable. I ended my multiday book tour at The Villages with what had been billed as a rally but could be better described as a candid citizen-to-citizen chat.
Today, I have stopped looking for a leader to show us the way out because I have come to realize that the only one who can truly save our country...is us. To change America's course we need to change ourselves, our expectations and our willingness to accept the unacceptable. When we refuse to allow our children to receive a trophy for participation, we are on the road to restoring the meaning of merit in our Republic. When we insist that no one is too big to fail, we will be able to learn from our mistakes, and when we demand that we are self-reliant, we will ensure that others can rely on us, not the government."

Hackers broke into the electronic files of one of the world's foremost climate research centers this week and posted an array of e-mails in which prominent scientists engaged in a blunt discussion of global warming research and disparaged climate-change skeptics.
The skeptics have seized upon e-mails stolen from the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia in Britain as evidence that scientific data have been rigged to make it appear as if humans are causing global warming. The researchers, however, say the e-mails have been taken out of context and merely reflect an honest exchange of ideas."

Stagnating Temperatures: Climatologists Baffled by Global Warming Time-Out - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News - International:
Global warming appears to have stalled. Climatologists are puzzled as to why average global temperatures have stopped rising over the last 10 years. Some attribute the trend to a lack of sunspots, while others explain it through ocean currents.
At least the weather in Copenhagen is likely to be cooperating. The Danish Meteorological Institute predicts that temperatures in December, when the city will host the United Nations Climate Change Conference, will be one degree above the long-term average."

The same turkey you didn’t like in August...
“Senator Reid’s bill is appropriate for the season: it’s the same turkey you didn’t like in August, and it’s not going to taste any better on Thanksgiving. Not much has changed. The bill still means higher premiums, it still means higher taxes, and it still cuts Medicare. It’s still 2,000 pages, and it still costs more than $2 trillion when fully implemented — and that doesn’t take into account a quarter-trillion-dollar doctors’ Medicare reimbursement. And it still sends struggling states new Medicaid costs that will force states to raise taxes or damage higher education or both.
“The two most important new parts of the bill make it even worse. There’s a new payroll tax that is exactly the wrong medicine when there’s 10 percent unemployment. And there’s a new government-run insurance program into which millions of Americans will be pushed when their employers drop their health care coverage as a result of this bill.
“We need to start over. We should move step-by-step to reduce health care costs using the steps that Republicans have repeatedly proposed: let small businesses pool resources for health insurance; allow purchasing of health insurance across state lines; end junk lawsuits against doctors; eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse; expand health savings accounts; and promote wellness and prevention.” –Senator Alexander

CBO: HEALTHCARE LEGISLATION INCREASES THE DEFICIT
The House Democrats’ health care legislation will increase the budget deficit by $89 billion over the next 10 years, and would continue increasing thereafter, according to figures released today by the Congressional Budget Office [CBO] – a finding that directly contradicts the Democrats’ claims of deficit reduction. CBO’s analysis counts all Federal health costs – including a Medicare payment increase to physicians known as the “doc fix” – which House Democrats removed from their health care bill (H.R. 3962) to bring it up as a separate measure, H.R. 3961.

Healthcare "Smoke and mirrors"
"This bill is nothing but smoke and mirrors. The Senate Democrats praise the bill they wrote behind closed doors saying it will cut costs and lead to savings, but the math doesn't add up. This 2,074 page bill will actually cost $2.5 trillion over 10 years once it is fully implemented. It will raise $493 billion in taxes and it will cut Medicare by nearly half a trillion dollars." - Senator Bennett

After spending binge, White House says it will focus on deficits - Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei - POLITICO.com:
The president's plan, which the officials said was under discussion before this month’s Democratic election setbacks, represents both a practical and a political calculation by this White House.
On the practical side, Obama has spent more money on new programs in nine months than Bill Clinton did in eight years, pushing the annual deficit to $1.4 trillion. This leaves little room for big spending initiatives."

seMissourian.com: Story: Mr. Obama: I'm calling you out:
The new era of government control over our lives and freedoms has begun. This week, it got personal, and I felt helpless.
The doctor overseeing my health care advised me to get an H1N1 flu shot. I've been under a six-year treatment program for a chronic infection, plus I have heart and lung problems. Therefore, I am considered a high risk. Fortunately, my doctor had three shots available, but I would have to get approval from my county health department. Much to my surprise, the woman at the health department apologized and told me that even though I was a senior citizen at high risk, the health department had been instructed to approve shots only for children and pregnant mothers. I asked when a shot for my situation might be available. 'We really don't know. Check back with us sometime in December.'"

Tea Bag Terror: Protests Causing Scares, Evacuations At Congressional Offices
Back on April 15th of this year - Tea Bag Protests were labeled "Terror" with no hesitation...that is....people mailing actual Tea Bags to their legislatures...( I wonder if they have Tea Kevlar vests? ) However, when someone - a TERRORIST - guns down people at a military base....let's not rush to judgement?
Tea Bag Terror: Protests Causing Scares, Evacuations At Congressional Offices:
A recent email to hundreds of thousands of conservatives exhorted them to 'Send a Tea Bag to Washington, D.C. for $1.' Other activists have organized local efforts to mail tea bags to the offices of their members of Congress.
It's all part of the anti-Obama, anti-tax 'tea party' movement, backed aggressively by corporate-funded 'astroturf' organizations like FreedomWorks. But now one of their symbolic protests is drawing attention for the wrong reasons."

Unemployment Is Really at 22.1%:
NyPo's John Crudele reports on the latest numbers from Shadow Government Stats and fills in a bit more on how the government is able to whittle down the number to 10.1%: My friend John Williams of Shadow Government Stats thinks the true unemployment rate would be 22.1 percent if everyone -- all discouraged former workers, encouraged, involuntary part-timers and the like -- were included.
Here are more numbers to fry your brain and cause a temporary sense of helplessness.
The government's household survey (the one from which the unemployment rate of 10.2 percent comes) showed a 'decline in employment' of 589,000 in October, which followed a 785,000 employment drop in September."

Voiceover (VO), reporter Martti Backman: Governments around the world are preparing for a grand climate conference, which should decide how humanity responds to the threat of a climate catastrophe. Negotiations are under way to replace the Kyoto treaty with a new treaty of Copenhagen.
VO: The threat is based on assessments by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the IPCC. According to the panel, the Earth is going through an unprecedented period of temperature increase, caused by man and his carbon dioxide emissions from burning coal and oil."

Opinion: Islamic Jihad, not George W. Bush, is responsible for the Fort Hood tragedy:
Watching the coverage of the national tragedy in Fort Hood, one is forced into one of two conclusions regarding the media--either they are absolute idiots or they are politically correct cowards. Either way this nation is in for a world of hurt.
The much-maligned 43rd president of the United States for the most part, rightly understood that America is at war with radical Islam. For some reason, the talking heads in the media and the Obama administration have yet to figure that out."

A Brief History of the Right to Self-Defense - HUMAN EVENTS:
For the first 150-years of the existence of the U.S.A., the right of citizens to carry arms was so fundamental it was not considered worthy of debate. The Founders considered their right to keep and bear arms the ultimate and most fundamental guarantee of life and free-dom against crime, foreign invasion, and as a last resort, a despotic government. No knowledgeable American--from the founding of the United States through the mid-1950's--would have questioned that the Second Amendment to the Constitution meant exactly what it says, '… the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.' This was not a right of a Militia. The 'Militia' was--and under current law still is--all able-bodied adults, who are expected to keep their privately-owned arms similar to what is used by the military at the time."

Creech Air Force Base, NV -- Thirty years ago this week a group of Iranian “students” shouting “death to America” stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran, taking nearly 100 hostages -- among them 65 Americans. Though foreign national employees and some Americans were released within a few weeks, the remaining 52 were held for 444 days. For the American people, it was an introduction to militant Islam. For President Jimmy Carter, intent on “engaging” the radical regime that replaced Shah Reza Pahlavi, it was a disaster. The Obama administration appears to have missed the lessons of this debacle."

Make no mistake about it, this generation is a generation of thieves and the people who stole their parents and their children’s money to make their own lives cushier are at it again. This time the target is their grandchildren.' -- Evan Sayet
Throughout American history, generations of our countrymen took pride in leaving the country better than the one they grew up in. Their attitude about sacrifice was summed up by this classic quotation from Tom Paine:
'If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.'"

AMEN! Thank God someone has the courage to say this....
Fort Hood's 9/11:
On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting 'Allahu Akbar!' committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam.
What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Ft. Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of non-denominational shoplifting."

Bloodless President Barack Obama makes Americans wistful for George W Bush - Telegraph:
During the election campaign, Barack Obama's cool detachment was a winning quality, the 'No Drama Obama' a welcome contrast with the 'Mr Angry' John McCain, never mind the hot-headed 'I'm the decider' President George W Bush.
A year into his presidency, however, Mr Obama seems a curiously bloodless president. If he experiences passion, he seldom shows it. It is often anyone's guess as to whether an event or issue truly moves him."
