Ed and Lynn Silliman's miracle came a few weeks ago.
The Sheppton, Schuylkill County couple's 5-year-old daughter, Delaney, walked for the first time on her own after receiving a special gift from Santa Claus, according to her mom.
Delaney has developmental disabilities that make it hard for her to talk or walk more than a few steps by herself.
But like most kids her age, Delaney loves visiting with Santa."

I must admit that this entire controversy (conservative feeding frenzy?) surrounding Governor Mike Huckabee’s commutation of Maurice Clemmons’ sentence back in 2000 makes me a bit queasy. Am I the only one that thinks the vitriol and condemnation of Huckabee over this is way over-the-top? Let’s take a step back from the beat-down for just a moment and examine the situation objectively, shall we? Most everyone knows the facts surrounding the killings by now. If you don’t, see here and here. All reasonable people can agree that this is a horrific crime which could have been prevented if the criminal justice system had worked properly. My prayers and deepest sympathy are with the families of these slain officers. Nevertheless, to single out Huckabee as the party most responsible in this matter is patently absurd."

Short answer; no. His well known heart problems would kill any chances of success. I seriously doubt questions about his health could ever be put to rest no matter how many doctors swore he was fit.
Beyond that, there is no doubt that Cheney would make a great president. He would be the 'Anti-Obama,' possessing qualities exactly the opposite of our current president while outshining him in wisdom and fortitude.
Leaving the health issue aside, could he win the nomination? Jon Meacham of Newsweek takes a serious look at why Cheney would be a good candidate:"

That's because Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius would be awarded unprecedented new powers under the proposal, including the authority to decide what medical care should be covered by insurers as well as the terms and conditions of coverage and who should receive it.
'The legislation lists 1,697 times where the secretary of health and humans services is given the authority to create, determine or define things in the bill,' said Devon Herrick, a health care expert at the National Center for Policy Analysis."
A quick search of the Senate health bill will bring up 'secretary' 2,500 times.
