A Time for Choosing: Rick Perry for President....

Have to say I agree.....

This isn’t simply an endorsement against Gingrich and Romney; it is an endorsement FOR Rick Perry. Perry is the longest serving governor in Texas history, a state with a long-standing tradition of voting incumbents out of office. He has successfully managed budget shortfalls without taking the easy path of tax hikes. General Revenue spending, accounting for population and inflation, is lower now then when he took office. He has cut taxes by billions. He has rejected federal dollars when he thought the feds where overstepping their authority. And, perhaps more importantly, he spearheaded a landmark medical malpractice reform which reversed the exodus of doctors out of the state and is steadily improving the health care market in Texas.

Jeremy Shockey Slams Houston Texans Players For Poor National Anthem Etiquette ...

Amen to this sentiment even though I think Shockey can be a little nuts. And shame on Houston's response.

J“This is America and this is just a game and they should not only be very proud of this country, but very gifted to be living here,” Shockey said. “Maybe they just forgot to do it or something, but I don’t see how you could forget to do that.”

Thousands Rally to Support Texas Nativity Scene Against Atheist Attacks....

The battle over a nativity scene in Athens, Texas, reached new heights this weekend when up to 5,000 supporters flooded the town square. Their purpose? To stand firmly opposed to the attacks a prominent atheist group has waged on the religious display.

Fast And Furious Scandal Gives Rise To Gun Regulation Debate....

"If the American people learn that the motivations for all of this was to make a case to deprive them of their Second Amendment rights or to make a case to further the (Justice) department's ability to further regulate gun rights within the United States, that would make them very angry," said Arizona Republican Rep. Trent Franks.

Obama Family’s Hawaii Vacation May Top $4 Million ....

The Hawaii Reporter has estimated that travel, alone, will cost $3,629,622 — a startlingly large figure considering the length of the trip. And, yes, in case you were wondering: Taxpayers will be footing a chunk of the bill. After all, it‘s not cheap to ensure that the world’s most powerful leader is safe as he travels and enjoys time away from the grind.

The cost of "Big Education"- ....

Notice Washington never mentions "Big Education"......

The National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education discovered that published college tuition and fees increased 439 percent from 1982 to 2007, while median family income rose 147 percent.

Here's to the Heroes: A Military Tribute - YouTube

I thought about the military all weekend. I watched with an odd sadness and relief when I saw the last tank head for Kuwait. My own family had people over there several times....it seems to have been a part of my life for almost two decades.
Fear and pride omnipresent.
I wonder though....
I pray that our withdrawal wasn't just political in nature.
I fear more than anything it was.
If that be the case....we know all those wonderful, brave giving souls who gave their last full measure of devotion will have died for....?.....They will have died for us.
I just pray our country didn't abandon their mission for the sake of a voting block.
We must - as a Nation - NEVER FORGET!

Conceal carry permit applications swamp state agency....

I am a gun owner....I treasure my Permit as 99.9% of the law abiding permit holding citizens do. I have a great respect for the power of the firearm.....we aren't the yahoo's breaking the laws....right now I'd check out Eric Holder.......

In less than six weeks, 56,000 people applied for a permit under Wisconsin's new concealed carry law and thousands more bought handguns, swamping the state agency handling the required background checks.

The applicants so far amount to about 1% of the state's population, and very few of them have been rejected for a permit. The number of state background checks for handgun purchases is also up more than 50% for the year - another sign of the large numbers of people taking advantage of the new concealed carry law.

Air Force Base Won’t Remove Nativity Scene, Menorah From Holiday Display ....

Nice to see SOMEONE has some intestinal fortitude when it comes to making a statement and then standing by it. That's what made our country great......there's nobody out there these days willing to take a stand on ANYTHING lest it hurt them politically. We tire of this....Good for Travis!

A holiday display featuring a nativity scene and menorah will not be removed from an Air Force Base in California, officials announced Saturday.

The festive display is set up along a main drive heading into Travis Air Force Base and features statues of Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus, along with a large Hanukkah menorah. It’s part of a bigger display featuring Air Force jets and Santa Claus. Such holiday displays are a base tradition, according to Sacramento ABC affiliate KXTV-TV.

Obama's release their first Christmas card in two years...can you say "Election"....

Funny how "tradition" is far more appealing on election cycles...

The First Family is all smiles in their Christmas-themed family portrait card which was released Thursday, continuing their recent string of holiday-related appearances.

The Obamas are shown sitting hand in hand in the Oval Office, with Michelle and Malia leaning in to one another while Sasha rest on her father's knee.

Even though Mr Obama has been president for the past three years, this is only their second family portrait, having skipped the tradition last year.

Congressmen can't say 'Merry Christmas' in mail.....

"Currently, incidental use of the phrase Happy Holidays is permissible but Merry Christmas is not," said Salley Wood.

So it's true, the elected representatives of the nation that puts "In God We Trust" on its currency are not permitted to use the greeting that has likely been uttered by every living adult American at least once in their lifetimes.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio: 'Don't ... use me as a whipping boy'.....

Sheriff Joe for President!!!!

Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Thursday he would cooperate “the best we can” with demands for changes to his Phoenix-based department, which federal prosecutors said had illegally arrested Latinos, abused them in the county jails and failed to properly investigate hundreds of reported sex crimes.

But Arpaio, whose national prominence is partly due to his pugnacious nature, added: “And if they are not happy, I guess they can carry out their threat and go to federal court.”

For the first time....I agree with John McCain....
Former Republican presidential candidate John McCain had harsh words for Barack Obama on the Senate floor Thursday, targeting the president’s handling of the Iraq war.

‘Indefinite Detention’ Bill Heads To Obama’s Desk As White House Drops Veto Threat.......

I think this should give people pause.....alot of pause.......

UPDATE: Obama has dropped his threat to veto the bill and is now expected to sign it into law. Remember – it was Obama’s White House that demanded the law apply to U.S. citizens in the first place.

The bill which would codify into law the indefinite detention without trial of American citizens is about to be passed and sent to Obama’s desk to be signed into law, even as some news outlets still erroneously report that the legislation does not apply to U.S. citizens.

Data on sales of previously owned U.S. homes from 2007 through October this year will be revised down next week because of double counting, indicating a much weaker housing market than previously thought.

Holder calls for review of states' voter ID laws

Did anyone mention to Holder he works FOR the USA....not against it????

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, in a speech in Austin on Tuesday night, criticized the redistricting maps drawn by the Texas Legislature as discriminatory against Hispanics and called for a more aggressive federal review of voter identification laws in Texas and other states.

Obama Campaign Collecting GOP Emails ......Jeez..I already get enough JUNK!

Where's the internet kill switch when ya need it????

The Obama information collection effort is cast under the mischievous guise of asking Obama supporters to “have a little fun at the expense of a Republican in your life” by signing them up to get an email from the Obama campaign ribbing them for having “inspired” the Obama supporter to donate.
